There’s a lot of ways this could not be the case. What if a straight married couple with a US citizen wife and a non-citizen husband had a baby using an egg donor and the husband’s sperm? A DNA test would show that the child was not biologically the US citizen’s child, that’s just one example of how a straight couple…

I was so blown away about a year ago when I learned that The Outsiders was written by an 18 year old woman. I never really liked the book - I didn’t hate it - but I definitely respect it more as a first novel from essentially a kid.
