I don't really see how she could "know" anything for certain other than relying on the journal. It really does speak to how incredibly diligent that her son was with his notes :-)

I'm just cynical enough to figure Marvel knows where the real money is. And that's in films. It seems to me that most of the money they're spending is on guest casting. Which is actually kind of sad, considering.

Oops, sorry. Shouldn't have used that stupid old comment anyway.

The only other alternative I've heard (and this was fairly popular at the time) was that the version of Hawkings in this particular episode was a manifestation of Jacob who had to convince Desmond to play it out that way for the endgame to occur. Kind of like he showed up to Hurley with the guitar case later in the

What he said. LOST had that extra sense of "out of time and space" that just led to whole areas of discussion that let a lot of freak flags fly.. Philosophy, world history (who built that statue and when?), archeology, nature questions (can polar bears really survive on tropical islands?), mixed in with genre

I'd been annoyed by Charlie ever since Fire+Water and The Long Con, so I just figured this was the writer's way of telegraphing to us that we weren't supposed to care much about him anymore. Of all the backsliding and resetting that Season Two started, Charlie might have been the worst. Aside from Michael, of course,

I am, but I might just draw the line at that one, unless I'm just incredibly drunk.

Me neither. Game of Thrones discussions seem to always ping back and forth between fans who have read the books and those that have not. It kind of waters down the speculation and mystery aspects that LOST thrived on. Plus, there just weren't nearly as many places for LOST fans to go back then, so the discussions

I think that was my second favorite Hurley/Sawyer interaction, right after Sawyer called him "crazy" and Hurley proceeded to beat the shit out of him underneath that tarp.

Well, a lot of the fault of that can be directly laid at the feet of the Heroes producers who swore up and down that they "had a plan" and compared themselves favorably to LOST because of it.

This is one of the reasons that some TV shows (serials, especially) are remembered more fondly than others IMO. The ability to replace characters with some that are just as interesting, or more interesting. Let's face it, "crap happens" and you're not going to keep your cast forever.

Oh, yeah. Where Smulders is concerned, I have no doubt that's why she hasn't shown up more often. But if she doesn't keep getting offers on the big screen, she might end up on SHIELD for a few episodes per year.

Well, if Joss was actually overseeing the show instead of busting his butt with A2, I might be disappointed right along with you. But he isn't. By all accounts I've read, the guy is figuratively dying of exhaustion with that puppy, he's such a hands-on guy.

Yeah, I never understood that objection. I mean, this is a world with denizens that can fly, cast thunderbolts, open wormholes to other places light years away, etc. Yet would people still talk about Kim Kardashian around the water cooler?

Well, when has anyone who likes this show referred to it as "art?"

Well, when he was introduced, he hated Hydra because of what Whitehall did to his wife, so I doubt it was him. The timing seems to indicate to me that it was probably a product of the CENTEPEDE project that Coulson and company thwarted last season.

It's certainly there for me now, especially after this week's bombshell.

My cable company decided to switch to digital service on Monday of last week, then didn't get around to providing me with a new DVR until the next Wednesday. I missed two episodes of Justified.

You know, from a strict organizational and overall plot view, I wouldn't be entirely unhappy if Gonzales ended up being the admin head of SHIELD, with Coulson being the operational head. Coulson always struck me as much more interesting as a field agent rather than the head honcho. But it's hard to ignore, even in two

Yeah, Tony won't have much of a leg to stand on, once it comes out that Ultron was partly/mostly his fault.
