I think because it’s shoe-horned in without context.  We didn’t need a romance for Finn that didn’t include one of the main stars...plus she’s a woman and asian.  That helps tip the scales.  Also, the movie was bad and her scenes are bad and in general it’s all bad.  That doesn’t help.  *personal opinion*

In my opinion, last Jedi was bad.  But it had moments.  Both directions...the opening “prank call”, the mary poppins of the force, the ending, the handling of luke - whatever.  It was a movie.  I underestimated people’s connection to the force!  Also - Rian Johnson seems like a huge asshole which is only making this…

I think at this point MS is so far behind they are just looking for PR, regardless of outcome...and if they know sony will never link up due to security - they also know sony would never publicly say that - it makes perfect sense to just hammer the PR of it.  

If there wasn’t exclusives there would be no reason to even make multiple consoles, which sounds great but content quality would drop due to no competition.
