I totally agree, I really wish they would’ve pushed this downmarket instead of up. Wealthy folks have plenty of options for RWD fun, can’t some of it trickle down to us regular folk!?

That’s a great example, I’ll keep an eye out for it. Reminds me of the modern Lamborghini poster in Dallas Buyers Club which featured a 2000s Lambo among a 1970s setting. Maybe somewhere out there is a movie car casting continuity consultant who wasn’t hired for either of these films.
Yeah, I always wondered if single brand-heavy productions were always a result of sponsorship. For un-sponsored or period productions, I bet there’s an interesting procedure. I’d be curious, too, if the casting agents just peruse Craigslist, or what, and what the criteria is. Do they ever just snatch a cheap,…
It sounds like it never ended up making it over from Europe. I can’t find the article I was remembering about the Canadian wagon, but apparently, something prevented it from ever debuting in Canada.
My pleasure! Can’t wait to read it!
The Kardashians have some baller rides, yo.
Jason/Jalopnik, have you ever interviewed a car-caster? I’d love to bend their ear on how vehicles are chosen, the various challenges, etc.
There is-or at least,was-a Cruze wagon, they sold ‘em in Canadia.
Can we get the Cruze wagon, too, in all variants?
“They (BMW) make unreliable cars that drive decently well for people who can’t buy a Porsche but still want to be douche bags.” YES this made me laugh, I’ve never heard such a perfect explanation.
Am I the only one who thought this was a story about meth-laced doughnuts? Just as believable as a false positive in Florida.
Had my first ride in a new Cadillac product this weekend (Lyft driver pushed a brand new ATS). Based on that encounter, I would it into a lake, too.
Or a Pontiac!!????!!?
Maybe you’re on the right track. Keep writing about your want of MPG figures, keep making your own tests and observations, and eventually the automakers, faced with all sorts of amateur figures, will be coerced to make some kind of statement.
I’m sure cooling/not cooling was a large design factor, but Tesla retains the traditional sedan profile even without an engine/transmission under the hood so it still seems like a fair comparison.
He should swap the GT86 engine into an old, underpowered Ferrari to complete the circle of swaps.
I’d read it, like Car Survival DIY- only posts on high-mileage cars, and the things their owners do to keep them on the road.
Are you legally/ethically able to review cars acquired through an entity besides the manufacturer? I mean, couldn’t you just run to a Jag dealer and test drive a V6 manual without Jag Official even knowing?
Wait-do they really present you a final price after “gas savings?” Would you actually only have to write a check for $82,100, or would the reality be $87,500?
He makes a good point, though: say something as soon as you suspect an issue. Other airlines (or similar transportation companies) won’t be so nice, and don’t have the cash reserves to hand out repair claims.
