I never understood why people drove SUVs in the city, until I got one (shortly before moving out of the city). Sure, they’re trickier to maneuver in tight spaces, but not having to dodge potholes eliminates at least 50% of the need for maneuverability anyways.

Yeah, I'm really going to keep an eye on these. I'be always said I'd buy a 911 when I had the skrilla, but what I truly want is this.

Photoshop... Or Paint?

An edge-of-your-seat, explosion-riddled, villain-tormented, good-guy-wins-in-the-end hypermiling race across the country.

I was surprised there was no mention of the fact that this is an electric camper van concept, and most campgrounds have RV hookups including electric. This actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Now that every automaker is putting AWD on everything, when will VW add it to the Beetle? It would at least gain some practicality, and be sort of the modern Baja Bug in that it could potentially leave the pavement.

Alternately, you should be able to set goals and achievements, Xbox style.

Yeah, but imagine the customer reviews.

Great point. Raph should maybe edit this into his post... I mean, he still could be right, and it definitely seems sexist, but perhaps it’s just a really well-done ironic political cartoon.

Wouldn’t this just get knocked around by satellites or meteors or something?

Well, it worked but it was only a block long, and Beach had a lot of trouble actually building a full scale system, finally being killed by a stock market crash in 1873.

Very Prowler

I’m only OK with this because it’s a Mazda underneath. I hope Mazda makes plenty of money off this little venture.

OMG you just found Clarkson’s next project.

The Chevy Suburban is probably the most appropriately named vehicle, ever.

I keep saying, I would love it if Clarkson and Bourdain actually did a show together. Both enjoy a (few) glasses of wine, a smoke, and some tomfoolery. Combine Clarkson's cars with Bourdain's travels, and you'd have one hell of a program.

Not sure how this box compares exactly to the previous generation, but I was able to load a 250cc motorcycle into my mom's '04 crew cab, tailgate down. So, double there.

Learning that truly brightens my day.

I really think if I had $15-20k to spend on a car, and I came across this, I would consider it. Obviously stash money away for repairs and gas, drive around feeling like Tony Soprano.

Better yet, serve pizza in the car. The upholstery is your napkin!
