There are still way, way too many who don’t see a problem, until it’s their problem. Then suddenly it’s all “why didn’t someone do something?”

Taxi companies are slime. The drivers are mostly just average Joes trying to make a living, and failing.
Sooo, Taiwan is not China, but it’s happy to let it’s workers be exploited in the same ways as China if it helps own the CCP?
Fuck off with the slideshow bullshit, not even clicking though just going straight to the comments.
Yay for the bean counters!
Pretty much this.
I mean this is what a taxi (or ride share) vehicle does for you now anyway. You get in and trust the human pilot to drive you around, you don’t touch the steering wheel or pedals in those cars. You can read, do a puzzle or simply watch the world go by leaving the driving to the driver.
The big conundrum is, the web made many things easy and fast. Some people are so addicted to the fast bit that the extra few seconds it takes to add security layers like 2FA, or even use decent passwords erodes the fast bit too much for them.
This seems to be implicated in this study that found “brain fog” or ACS was an especially worrying symptom for patients who already had some kind of neurological diagnosis.
At least it makes the latest temperature anomalies map from the Polar Portal look very pretty.
GIGO.
Observing what’s been happening in South Australia is illuminating. It’s kind of a smaller scale, relatively isolated community where it’s easier to see what’s going on.
Yeah I recall hearing about that, I simply can’t imagine 40+ without AC. I guess we also go through a kind of acclimation when the real heat first hits. Also basic stuff like remembering to park in the shade and cover the steering wheel so it doesn’t take the skin off your palms.
Many years ago I had an old Audi 100, it not only blinked its lights in interesting patterns but randomly moved the windows up and down while operating the sunroof!
That is just so far outside my experience I can’t even imagine it. Like our freezer is set to -18C and that seems absurdly cold.
A walk around is a can do activity, riding in one, that’s more problematic...
Your honor, the facts here are simple.
You do realise that in almost every other country in the world Apple HAS to pay sick leave to workers in those places because in most civilized societies it is consider a basic right?
People with guns are lame ass wimps. Anyone who needs to tote around a firearm must be so fucking scared of literally everything they don’t deserve to be in open society.
Ah, Molly, dear, sweet summer child.
