I’m a teacher myself and I know I’ve ruined a few kids’ days along the way. Gotta own that. But there are teachers who should not be in the profession. PE is a funky niche. There are some good ones, to be sure, but as with many things associated with public education, we can’t stamp kids out of a mold.
For me, it was more like 1976 and we’d be called up one by one to try and do chin-ups. In front of the class. Humiliating.

I feelz. I was the chubby kid who wasn’t good at sports and got teased by PE teachers as well as by the kids. And assaulted in the locker room. It was a horror.
