I’m 80% of the way through this book and now I see it’s coming onto Hulu as a series. The previews look pretty good. The story does lend itself to video form so I might have to subscribe to Hulu for the first time. I’m frankly surprised we don’t see any advance hype for the series here on AV Club.

Man, how many of us have stories just like this. I would like to believe my father wasn’t racist but in his final year when he could barely speak he made it clear that he was a Trump man. He died during the televising of the GOP convention.

Easy.

Too bad the review only involved the first 5 episodes, and the reviewer concedes the 5th episode was good. In fact, episodes 5-9 are quite good. The story really builds and sort of transcends its grindhouse heritage. Looking forward to seeing the final episode of the season tonight. I think the first 5 eps do indeed

His lawyer said he took the sentence "like a man", while apparently not noticing him hobbling around on a walker like Bill Cosby and his cane. These guys aren't exactly manly men.

I used to believe that two or more people discussing an issue could materially affect one another’s opinions. I don’t anymore. My very intelligent brother who is Republican was quite upset when I told him I don’t discuss many issues anymore because I find that people aren’t persuadable, i.e. all people. He found my

I’m pretty sure there’s a motivational poster hanging in a Wendy’s breakroom inspiring employees to “meet the moment” next to a legal declaration informing workers that they must wash their hands before handling the rectangular patties.

Yup, all the time. And there is nothing unique about this story where the black woman doing sex work is sharper and savvier than her white sister.

If everything you say is true, then opinions aren’t like assholes, they are assholes. Whether you’re first or last with your opinion, it doesn’t matter. It will stink no matter what. In other words, if you think Kobe is only a rapist, your opinion stinks. If you think Kobe’s actions post-rape redeems him even a little

People who never want(ed) children can get a bad rap for being selfish, too obsessed with over population and climate change, and/or just being downright strange relative to those who like to breed. But this is the real reason I never wanted biological children. The world is too precarious even if you factor out over

Too bad this balanced piece wasn’t the first thing everyone read after Kobe’s death. Maybe the shit show that ensued would have been a little less shitty.

It was better than all the Marvel Crap Universe movies, but I see your point.

White Bones Matter

There’s a pretty good possibility that the cam girl will be just fine and may even realize her mother’s hopes for her. Lusty Lady, that takes me back. Like Dan I visited there once.

Reminds me of an incident involving Rush Limbaugh where he was caught with a huge bag of unprescribed Viagra while returning from a trip to the Domincian Republic, where underage prostitution is a thriving business.

OMG, if only the entire Kardashian/Jenner family would have been on that ‘copter instead of the 9 who actually died.

I’ll be able to say... I saw the twitter thread 4 hours after the original post. Hoping this is better than Hustlers, actually.

Police work used to be dangerous work at the turn of the century, i.e. turn of the 20th century, but it’s been long downward trend since about the 1930's.

Just for comparison, the FBI reports that 90 police officers were killed in the line of duty in 2019, 48 feloniously and 42 accidentally. This is down from 106 in 2018.

I seen worse. Top 10 review, tho.
