I loved that show.
I loved that show.
Quirky, otherworldly guy who actually was really grounded and generous. These stories are very nice to hear.
Some of these shows look intriguing but I'll ditch all of them for the next season of Better Call Saul.
The dance party in Madagascar was in the early part of the movie and introduced us to the crazy King Julian. That was the best part of that movie and indeed one of the most gleefully silly things in any animated movie in recent years (I have three kids so I get dragged to a lot of cartoons). Perhaps filmmakers are…
"I vastly prefer the college games to the NFL, and would almost always rather watch two 6-6 universities play than any two pro teams."
I remember as a tiny kid, my mother had a Beatles 45 — Eleanor Rigby on one side, and Yellow Submarine on the other. My sister and I played it like crazy. We also had The Monkees. Back then (late 60s), most "kids music" was Disney movie soundtracks on LP, which is actually decent stuff compared to the drek of today. I…
"Let’s see how the first film does before you promise a whole franchise."
Yes, caution and bean counting are a great way to map out a film franchise. Which is why The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's two sequels aren't being made.
I greatly enjoyed Rogue One, then shoveled out from a blizzard, which caused me to injure my back. I spent the rest of the weekend on muscle relaxers. Watched SNL (which was up and down, although the viciousness of the anti-Trump rhetoric was noted, and welcomed) and got caught up in fantasy football playoffs.
Various audiobooks from my local library for my long commute, along with a graphic novel:
I stumbled across The Bad Seed (1956) on the movie channel and thoroughly enjoyed it, and later bought it on DVD.
He did the narration for Stephen King's audiobook "It" and it was superb. It's like 20-some hours long.
In junior high school in the 1970s, our music teacher showed us a film about how music is created. And it contained footage of The Temptations developing "Just My Imagination" in the studio, and I guess that was the first time I really paid attention to what a great song that is. I would love to hear the original, and…
Church people have been raving about this book for a decade or so. I doubt it's any good but I've always wondered what the hook was.
Great, now I'm hungry.
Part of Jordan's genius is that he resembles the people he's mocking. He could be one of Trump's sons, or an alt-right leader.
I'm sure my politics are no different than Seth Myers, Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, et al, but damn if they don't get repetitive and depressing. An easy target like Trump is a blessing (lotsa easy jokes) and a curse (after a while, you become the exact kind of liberal elitist that Trumpkins insists you are). It's…
Aw, how sweet. I bet the guys who threw beer on Steve Bartman and threatened his life were probably crying with joy last night, too.
Commies.
The first two games in Cleveland featured national anthems by people who have zero connection to the city. Meanwhile, games 3-5 might as well have been produced by the Chicago Chamber of Commerce.
Also around this time, there was an animated version of The Christmas Carol that scared the crap out of me.
