I was gonna say the face-to-face with Jim Moss and Gene. Holy hell was that intense.

I’ll be honest here: I didn’t remember who Ryan was, and I had to look him up. Good thing the writers keep track of everyone Barry has killed in this show, because I certainly don’t, especially when it’s been over 4 years since season one.

We’ve all been waiting for one of the principles to snuff it.”

I’m sad that you didn’t bring up Hank’s visit to the beignet store, where the proprietor points out that Christobal spent their whole relationship lying to him, says that he’s better off out of the relationship, and then offers him a job managing the upcoming beignet franchise. Just... incredible.

The BanShe scene was breathtakingly funny. Reminded me of a I Think You Should Leave sketch - you know the one (that the actress was part of). Just magnificent.

Amen. It started slowly but when you get to the end of Episode 7 you realize just what a really clever bit of writing they pulled off for not just the season but for the world they’ve built for the previous three seasons.

I just finished and personally, I think this has been the best season by quite a wide margin. The writing has never been better.

I don’t get the hate for Sarah Sherman’s Update bit. She’s been hilarious every time she’s on, and she brings the chaotic energy the rest of the show is lacking.  This might have been my favorite bit she’s done so far.  She needs to be moved up to the main cast asap.

Lordy, this was such a half-assed episode. Sarah may have flubbed, but she brought ENERGY, the only bright spot for me in the entire evening.

The man who bought the school was none other than the recently departed Kevin Samuels.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Not-A-Perfect-Person-but-a-Perfect-Mom sketch. Easily the best of the night; the intergenerational hypocrisy was outrageously funny, even to McKinnon’s grandma screaming at David Bowie to take her panties. ‘You blew my roommate/I thought it was you!” was definitely the spit out your

But you know who would have loved that accent?

No mention of Heidi Gardner’s wonderful work in the Blue Bunny sketch.

Now playing

That wasn’t even the first time they’ve done it:

i know comedy is subjective but i thought ‘new toilet’ was hilarious.

I loved how completely in control Darius was when they started their day. Usually he’s just floating along in the background doing whatever, but in Amsterdam? He’s a man on the move. I hope the season finale is just a full hour of his day in Amsterdam.

Are we supposed to doubt Earn? My read on the ending was far less cynical than the review’s. And it is in part, because Earn has become a better manager. Here, Al just went on an oddessy where his pixie dream guide had him doubting everything about who he is and what he’s got, and in the end when he projects those

it’s not just the music industry but every white dominant space that Black and non-white folks have to move through.

A+ on costuming.

After a Nacho has been dipped in something greasy, you know the end is near.
