I do have to say, though, that I’m pretty tired of Jason already. I don’t need him to be smarter, but none of his dumbness is funny. There’s gotta be something more creative there with his lines. More than anything I feel like he just is kind of in the way in episodes.

I’m so glad we’re getting more Vicky/Tiya Sircar this season. And no line has ever been more perfectly suited to a character than “Actually, Michael, I’d like to SING a few words.”

After the insanely ambitious last episode, it was inevitable that this would be a quieter installment. And it worked - we probably needed something like this - and we finally got to see how Tahani died.

The fact that it hasn’t been mentioned on the show yet makes me think it’s never going to be mentioned, which is a shame, because I think it’s something that would be interesting exploring.

Did you know there’s a player on this season named Roark? Most of the viewers don’t.

Joe continues to be Tony Vlachos Part II...I hated the first one, and I don’t like this ass-clown any better.

I’m pretty sure Caleb’s solution to overcrowding would be in-cell delivery of new roommates.

quick question: uh, has anyone ever seen Paul Adelstein and Kyle Bornheimer in the same room together? why? oh, no reason...

I’m just trying to work up the nerve to see her.

Tim Meadows’s Caleb was just the best in this whole arc as his chipper attitude about revealing things or keep giving details that make him look worse was just a revelation. Also agreed that we really need to hear the Terry episode of the podcast someday.

I want the warden to return because I want Toby Huss to be in everything, but I suspect that character’s done.

I just find this show so heart-warming and earnest. The step-dad and the step-brother are loving in their particularly obnoxious way; Alex continues to be close with his daughter over the course of time; and in general, it’s the kind of comedy where the problems don’t involve facing an evil caricature. Sure, some

Kristen Bell was also really good in her guest role on Deadwood & if you love her as much as I do, I implore you not to watch those episodes, as her character’s fate is not easy to get over.

“Obviously it’s nowhere near being Star Trek level good”

You mean... Vicky should get a bigger part?

Was Michael’s “aw, farts,” a shout-out to Last Man on Earth (on which his wife Mary Steenburgen has delivered the “oh farts” line with devastating effect?)

“Catch the magic panda and use her powers.”

Rewatched s1 between last week’s episode and this week’s, and it was a great idea. Helps keep gags/storylines fresh, would recommend it. I love this show so damn much and after rewatching I’ve come to appreciate the philosophy that’s weaved in throughout even more. Such a fun and funny show.

Yeah, usually, but then you also get seasons like Millenials vs. Gen X where those bullshit stereotypes got wedged into confessionals all season.

We call that the Before Times.
