Yeah, definitely illegal. Not sure if there is a standard penalty, but I would think 30 sec is appropriate. Basically a drive through for the time you would have lost had you not commited the infraction, plus 5-10 sec. for breaking a rule.

I only liked Alonso when we was with Minardi, and then again about half way through his Ferrari stint. Always rooted against him when he was at Renault and McLaren. He definitely seems to have aged well though, and I actually like him a lot now.
