Those wheels are great. At first they look like plain twin spoke design wheels similar to those on the current 991 Turbo. A close looks shows they have a ‘twist’ to them like turbo wheels of old.

Because they made an entirely new engine for the base WRX (Direct Injected, twin scroll FA20DIT), but haven’t done so for the STI yet (still EJ). I would think (hope) they’ll come out with a new STI motor based on the FA soon. Why stuck with the EJ in the first place, I don’t know, maybe just development time?
