Whats up with the crazy extended sideskirts?
Is it weird that I absolutely wouldn’t let anyone but me pump the gas in my car? The risk of some schlub spilling even a drop of gas on my paint is just too great. I’d refuse to live in NJ or Oregon just for that reason.
So just to be clear, this thing was a 4-door unlimited and they converted it to a long wheelbase 2-door?
E39's came to market in 1995 though... so if a ‘98 540 would qualify, I could see a 2003 M5 squeezing in as a continuation model. Designed and bred in the 90s! Plus I saw E36s and E38s from the same era.
Debated long and hard about bringing my E39 M5, but wasn’t sure if it was going to qualify. Perhaps as a “continuation” model.
Ended up just bringing my lady instead.
This article just reminded me of the fact that I haven’t seen a MkIV Jetta on the road in soooo long. They used to be everywhere! They’re literally extinct in SoCal. Probably too unreliable and expensive to maintain given their current market value.
My first car was a ‘91 Accord 5-spd. I would hands down fight anyone who tried to steal it, so bravo!
Gotta go with the 2018 Accord. Turbo motor and a manual!
This is literally the bastard child of every car in this category ever produced. Like I can’t tell any of them apart anymore.
“That’s owed to his lamentation that it’s otherwise useless owing to the seemingly insurmountable engine management issues.”
Fellow Mk V owner... 2 door/6spd. I loved that car. Had from new to about 60k miles and only had one issue, a turbo solenoid that needed replacing.
Love that bodyline/crease down low near the side sills. Really makes the car look like its about to take off.
manual film lens? lol... come on, the quality of the shots actually points to the exact opposite.
The photography is finally up to snuff though! much better than other attempts lately. I suppose this is what happens when dedicated photographers become disposable assets to most publications.
We need a new federal law... “No man may wear flip flops if more than 1/4 mile from a sandy beach.”
Agree, all of the photography is shot way too tight. Need establishing shots followed by detail.
Just like the classic.... “What are you, a gay fish?” we’re destined never to know its true origins.
That badge on the C-pillar is the only thing that makes this acceptable. Come on BMW, bring this back on some of your coupes!
The badge on the C pillar is the ONLY redeeming quality of this car!! Come on man, that’s classic E9!
Saving 15-30 lbs over a normal 911? Is Porsche serious? This seems like the most pointless model in the range.
