Been around for decades. Look up BMC, bulk moulding compound.

It’s called Bulk Molding Compound, BMC, and it’s usually in sheet form that gets pressed and cured in a mold. it’s specific to chopped fiber reinforced material. CFRP can refer to any form of carbon fiber, chopped, continuous, particulate, etc.
