Formula Drift isn’t racing. Full stop.
Formula Drift isn’t racing. Full stop.
And this point the author is just trolling.
Just last year, Honda Formula One engines were a mix of the biggest joke and the biggest mechanical plague in the sport. “Honda” was so synonymous with “bad” in F1 that you could practically swap the words out in a sentence. Now, Honda is the new engine supplier for F1’s third-best team, Red Bull Racing.
Ok Alanis, your witch hunt is just stupid now.
I still don’t really get the point of drifting. I’d take that GT86 if it was set up for proper driving though.
That’s fair, but I was actually more fixated on the fact that you seemed to think allegations of an F1 driver (it at least someone major in the sport) committing sexual assault were a foregone conclusion. It just seems weird to actively anticipate that.
Drifting is the only motorsport where at the professional level you don’t get a penalty for hitting your opponent. And I think that is ridiculous. I don’t care if it’s unintentional contact because either way it’s careless contact. If you can’t keep it off your opponent you need to practice more.
Of all motorsports, this is near the dumbest. It’s worse than...
French cars have to allure of forbidden fruit, until you realize the fruit has been forbidden because it’s pest-infested, likely to produce deleterious effects on your body, and will deplete your bank account.
That’s a stupid reason.
I came back to this comment from Alanis’ article from yesterday (which, I agree with you, was complete and utter crap). To be totally fair, Jalopnik has covered the TT more in depth in the past, with possibly the only worthwhile thing Rafael Orlove has ever penned for this website:
yeah, this place doesn’t give a shit about races unless someone crash
Absolutely not. I don’t know why people keep saying this. They are AWARE of the extreme hazard coming into this race. They race these roads at 180mph because they DESIRE that rush. Just because people don’t like to see people dying doesn’t mean you should take away this rite of passage for some riders.
My 1980 320i has stock 13" wheels. 15" are about as big as they get for the 4 lug pattern too. 17" would just look weird I think.
Yup!
I wish they made a 16”, but 17s aren’t too harsh on Porsche 964s and 993s. I suspect that’s the target market. They’d work well on a Porsche 944 too.
Thank you for writing an actual article and not just re-posting something on else on the internet with minimal commentary. You are becoming a rare breed.
Neutral
Am I allowed to write that I think this is the stupidest “sport” ever?
