They want to be entertained, and polishing and executing something like RE7 this well for entertainment doesn't just happen so easily.

I got my hands on an early copy, been playing for a few days. I love it. This is coming from someone who has followed the series religiously for the past 19 years. I understand if not everyone can throw 60 bucks down for a brand new game..but if you get the chance, now or in the future, it's a hell of a ride.
