Yep. Not only that, in the Democratic primary, polls had her steamrolling Bernie in Michigan by 8 to 20 points depending on the poll and she lost the primary.

Yes, this. She lost the primary in both Michigan and Wisconsin. She went to Michigan, but not as much as she should have, and she never went to Wisconsin after losing the primary.

This is good. I’m not sure if anyone else caught it, but there was a sentence or two in Obama’s speech in which he talked about automation and reconfiguring the social safety net. That’s the first I heard a well known politician ever mention that as a problem to solve.

Bernie doesn’t want to bring back coal. He wants renewable energy. He has talked about job retraining programs for people who have or eventually will lose jobs in the fossil fuel industry.

Yep, this. Severely underperformed Obama in Milwaukee County, WI and Wayne County (Detroit), MI, enough to win each state if she came close to Obama’s votes.

A few more indeed. She lost the primary pretty handily in Wisconsin and never campaigned there during the general.

Appreciate the clarification. Like several others, I misinterpreted that post.

Yes, I agree the sum of money they’re asking for is ridiculous, and I don’t disagree that there should be some consequences for the students. It would be understandable that the parents are trying to prevent their kid from getting expelled, though.

I figured that. My point is it’s not relevant to the situation at this school.

Right. I agree. But people were saying these kids that were expelled were WASPs so Black Protestants aren’t involved in the point I was trying to make.

Yes, this is probably true. They’re probably fighting this tooth and nail because they live in the city and their options are either Morgan Park or attempting to enroll their kid at Queen of Peace or McAuley, which might be less conveniently located for them. It might also be costing them more money if Marist isn’t

Probably middle class. But yes, quite racist.

I’m guessing their families are quite middle class. Inappropriate and racist, but probably not rich.

Almost all the Protestants don’t live on the Southwest Side within the city limits. Just a fact.

There’s not many Jewish families on the Southwest Side of Chicago.

I doubt they’re charging that much more, probably minimally more. I doubt many Protestant families will choose to live in the city limits and send their kid to a Catholic high school. I doubt many Protestant families will choose to live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and send their kid to a Catholic high school.

I am guessing they’re mostly Catholic. There’s not a whole lot of Protestants in the area.

Based on growing up in the area, I’d bet most of these kids are Catholic, but thanks for playing. I can’t defend anything they did whatsoever, but I think people need to understand the South Side of Chicago before commenting.

I’m going to doubt a majority know the origin of the W and L flags.
