There are a lot of things that used to seem funny that don't after last week.

Travolta actually looks pretty good with that beard.

No, that was a thing then. See: Thirtysomething.

Wow. I have zero memory of any of these, and I am exactly the right age to have seen them. Weird.

Is there some place that has all these memes collected together? I want to tuck them away for a Nazi day—I mean a rainy day. And please don't say Twitter, I can't stand trying to figure that mess out.

I know the trapdoor feeling. It's one thing to know that illness and death lurk, but a whole other thing to really realize it in your soul. And it was definitely not a good week for such news. I hope (and pray if you don't mind) that your mom will be able to make a great recovery.

I'm really sorry. I hope the prognosis is good. My dad has been battling brain cancer for two years and we are waiting to hear the results of his last MRI. It is the world's worst roller coaster ride, and I am sorry you and your mom are on it.

Thank you for being vulnerable and writing so beautifully. Your story shows us who Leonard Cohen was better than a standard obit ever could.

You know, It's Always Sunny was my first thought too. Also Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I love seeing people behaving despicably for comedy's sake. Because we know they are winking at us in the subtext. Makes me happy.

Shouting "when you knock me down I get the fuck back up again" is very cathartic, FYI.

Thank you, I needed that article.

I've been watching Johnny Cash on Youtube. His voice is the most comforting voice I know, and he always stands out to me as someone who sought the good despite his own demons, as we all need to do.

I've watched a couple episodes of the new season of TBBT, and the similarity to late Happy Days is astonishing. I mean, I'm watching Sheldon and Amy living together, hosting a brunch, and I'm honestly expecting Ted McGinley to come strolling in.

I would say Shkreli, mostly because Eric looks like he would bite my hand off shark style if it came near his face. With Shkreli, I think my fist would just sink in like a nice pillow.

I ate at a local restaurant last weekend that had one guy walking around taking orders on tablets, while the other waitstaff seemed to just be there to supply drinks and clear tables. It was spectacularly inefficient.

I always like Random Roles, but I especially like hearing from character actors like Ms. Hill who have been everywhere and done everything. Great interview.
