I believe that machine sewing is the most swearing-provoking human activity.

An hour with Bob Ross is as good as an hour in therapy. Great article, I learned a lot.
Jesus Christ, that's gruesome.
And yet, I always liked Tim and Jill's relationship. I feel like that marriage was one of the best and most realistic sitcom marriages. Yes, she did a lot of eye-rolling, but there was real affection and respect there, unlike Ray and Debra or Doug and Carrie, to name but two sitcom marriages that give me cold shivers.
Kerry Kinney is WAY overdue for a good project.
Yes, I thought they were leaping to a lot of conclusions there.
Yes, it's pretty much the only Roth book I've enjoyed.
I read both volumes (The Voice and The Chairman) last year, and yeah. Not an awesome guy. Plus, the whole time I was reading I kept hearing Bruno Kirby in my head, "When you've loved and lost the way Frank has…"
If that's Van Gogh: The Life by Naifeh and Smith—I greatly enjoyed it. It's dauntingly large but worth the time.
I learned the word "jagoff" from Mystery Science Theater 3000 in 1993. Also the word "dickweed." A useful show, that.
I'll admit it, I've never seen Project Runway, I only know this dude from commercials…but that was an absolutely delightful interview and I think I'm a Tim Gunn fan now.
I adore classic radio shows, and this is going to provide some great listening in the next few days. Thanks!!!
Definitely among my top five classic movies! Carole Lombard is so damn funny. And Jack Benny is at the top of his game, too.
That Julia kitchen exhibit is the best thing in the Museum of American History. It's a treasure.
Nice review. I remember seeing Mara around as a child actress, and her book sounds like something I need to find. I know book reviews aren't much of a priority around here anymore, but they really are appreciated and useful to many of us.
So we get an RIP for Phyllis Schlafly, but nothing for Hugh O'Brian, who was an actual, you know, film and TV star? Not to mention much better-looking than Ms. Schlafly.
It's fantastic. She has one coming out this month about Winston Churchill and the Boer War that I'm looking forward to.
Eva, Adolf Jr., and little Josef.
I wasn't a huge fan, but yes, I thought that episode was one of the better ones. Maybe I just like to see hipsters being mocked…
I enjoyed it too. Tom Bergeron was one of their morning hosts, IIRC. They sent a camera crew to my husband's job and did a segment from there. I used to have a videotape of it, and you could see my husband in the background. It was fun in the early 90s when all those cable channels were more experimental.
