No, I don’t believe a GM diesels got a true lift pump until the switch over to the Denso systems in 2017. Which those sound like they are dialed in very well or at least what I can find online. I think they had a small mechanical primer system but otherwise was reliant on the injection pump to perform double duty.

Interesting point on the Cummins CP4, sounds like they made it even more aggressive than the Ford. There has to be a tear down of the Dmax, CTD and PSD CP4's out there somewhere... right? GM was crazy enough to NOT include an electric lift pump, nuts.

Is the Cummins fuel filter that bad? I know FoMoCo won’t publish free or emulsified water stats for the PSD’s fuel filters, which is annoying, however Fleetguard says its FS53000 filter is 93ish% efficient at emulsified water, which is really really good. It does appear, especially on the 2017+ alumiduties that ford

Yep, all years of the 6.7 are CP4 powered. The pumps changed in 2015, I think, and went higher pressure in 2020 with the 475hp pick up engines.

For a while all the big three were running the CP4 pump in some flavor, first GM in 2009 IIRC, then Ford in 2011 with the 6.7 PSD and finally Dodge/Ram in 2019. GM dumped it in 2016, I believe when they went to the Denso based system, Ram only ran the CP4 for 2 years but Ford has stuck with the pump since 2011,

I am sorry but how in the name of all that is holy is the Hummer H2 not on this list? Every spray tanned, gelled up hair high flow douche nozzle from here to Southern Jersey drove those things in the early to mid 2000's. Horrid fuel economy, visibility only Helen Keller could appreciate and butt ugly “look at me I
