I wish they did this with the i8 and raced that instead of the beached whale looking M6 they insist on. Just saw it race at the Bathurst 12 hours and it’s not a very pleasant thing to see trying to change directions. Just doesn’t seem as graceful as a 911 R or Ferrari or Mclaren. But it seems to just bolt up to an aluminum part of the chassis that seemed to be in decent shape. I may be wrong, but I think you can just unbolt the entire structure and bolt in a new or used one

Honestly, it doesn’t look like that bad of a fix. Get some decent used subframes from a junkyard, swap those out, a little POR-15 and some silver spray paint and you’re good to go. Maybe even get a used, decent condition exhaust if you don’t wanna dish out the cash for a proper stainless steel unit.
