I tried reading Blue Highways, but it was so depressing in the first portion that I gave up. My understanding is that most road trip books/stories are about/written by people looking for catharsis. Are any of the ones on this map a fun read?

I’ve been hit by a distracted driver while she was using her cell phone. She was in a 5,000lb SUV and I was on my 300lb motorcycle. I’d say it had somewhat of a consequence.

Well, it’s a 15 year old car. Since it’s a practical and fun daily driver, I actually don’t see that mileage as unreasonable. Roughly 12,000 per year.

Great car. My dad had a tan MarkV when I was a kid, and that battleship had presence. I absolutely love the proportions on these, and the feeling of luxury from the inside is incredible. Truly one of the best attempts at “American Bentley” ever devised.

I’m personally surprised they still allow bikes. In a car with a full cage you at least have a fighting chance, at least on many sections. On a bike there’s really no way it ends well.
