I’ve been riding for 42+ years and I can’t think of any situation where “let ‘er down” would occur to me. I’m not saying it doesn’t work, it’s just not something I can practically practice.

Looks snowmobile-ish to me.

True. mine was new and I didn’t put 7500 miles on it in the 2 years propr. There are a few “loopholes” to accommodate people coming from other states.

No worse than the Audi 5000 CS Turbo Quattro.

“....the 7 Series became bolted to the showroom floor the moment the new S-Class went on sale.” THIS is the best line on Jalopnik today!

I bet for $4k-$7k that engine could easily be bumped to 38 to 40hp. I think you’re you’re right about the CHPs episode!

....word....

Needs bags and 22’s.

No design engineering is trivial. Even toothpicks require “engineering.” To trivialize any design task is foolish. You can screw up the design of a doorknob for cripes sake.

I thought the same thing. In fairness, there may have been other mods but I’ll be damned if I could find them if there were. The dealer parts people couldn’t find anything other than that valve either. Even the ECU (or it’s equivalent) spas the same part number. Doesn’t matter now. I can still tell an RC51 engine

Sorry....49..not 409. (correction for smart-a** sticklers)

I was kidding. If it were me, I’d just as soon you not have a copy of my license anywhere even if you think it’s secure.

I would have put the check valve on no problem. They didn’t care. The only thing they cared about was the plate that said it was a 409 or 50 state bike. I loved mine as well but I’m happy with my bikes now so no problem. Just silly.

And they still xeroxed his driver’s license before he bought every one.

Damn pretty ain’t it?

I bought a Honda RC51 (motorcycle) 49 state version into California and registered it to an address in Hawaii. I rode it for 2 years with Hawaii plates and never got hassled. One day, I guess California started to increase compliance and got Hawaii to insist I bring the bike to a DMV office in Hawaii. Obviously I

Hock or hawk?

I guess you can do some cool drifts with snow tires. Kinda’ noisy on the freeway though.

I buy Michelin or Bridgestone tires so I guess I didn’t do my part in keeping Goodyear here. It wasn’t because of price though. Now I have even less reason to look at Goodyears. I wish I could be around 50 years from now to see how all of this evolves.
