This makes a lot of good points, yet also seems to skim by what I consider the most important one — what made Deadpool such a breakout was also the one thing that many other Fox (and most WB) films lacked — respect for the material they’re adapting, and making an attempt to be as accurate to the spirit (and where

Maybe now we can get the R rated Wolverine movie we deserve.

Sorry Rob, I completely disagree. I watched the show in a theater full of people and the crowd CHEERED when Sam died. And they generally cheered throughout the episode. I hate to break out to you, but there have been a lot of senseless deaths in the show. Dale, Beth, Sofia, Tyreese, etc; characters die stupidly all

The point of the deaths of the Anderson family is to showcase the brutality of the world. You had a visceral reaction to it, meaning it accomplished exactly what it was supposed to. The world is not all rainbows and puppy dogs, and the minute you think you understand this new world and think you can escape, reality

Call me a monster if you want, but not only did the death of Sam Anderson not shock me, I was expecting it. That kid represented the coddled nature of the whole Alexandria community. His only purpose was to show how unprepared those who refuse to help themselves were for the zombie apocalypse.

“they kept the child murder”

That’s Rob for ya!

It’s almost as if we watched totally different episodes.

Money gives you an advantage over people. She can hire a better manager, take song writing lessons, travel to places that will put her in front of the right people and time not wasted laboring on a day job so she can work on her music.

At least it didn’t feature an acoustic, downtempo, minor-key rendition of the original Ray Parker Jr. theme sung by a breathy female artist. “If there’s. Some thing strange. In your neigh. Bor. Hood.” (Shots of chaos, punctuated by fade-to-black transitions)

Is that what he’s shooting for? Because it all just looks like Spanx for people of color and the kind of workout clothes you see in Walmart. It all looks cheap and tacky.

Maybe because it’s not a vanity line to him. He seems to legitimately want to be considered a designer. Every new season is the same clothes, with whatever he learned in the past year added. In about 5 or so years, if he’s not broke, Kanye may actually present a fully actualized line, instead of this minimalist

Ohhhhh God. That's hideous.

Huh!

Been fighting with The Wife over The Revenant. I say it could have been 45 minutes shorter and would have been much, much, better for it.

That it worked out well is a testament to the writers and overall creative talent. Executives have a priority of getting things funded just enough that the movie will be a profitable product and worth the investment. It’s a business after all. Lots of projects get their budgets cut and turn to crap, but good talent

You want people to want more. That’s how sequels get made, and Deadpool 2 is practically a greenlight now if reports are correct.

Everything is always about the money. That’s how it works. Deadpool is an extremely risky movie compared to the standard Marvel fair or blockbuster. It’s a bet that audiences will like it. FOX wanted to limit their risks, and $7 million is a lot of money. So honestly, it’s not surprising.
