You are seriously comparing Vick to a murderer???

I still miss Grantland. It was a good thing.
One day a font will be invented with smoke coming from it, to indicate the hotness of the takeness.

Yep, my costs have skyrocketed since the ACA passed as well. I look wistfully at the days of my health coverage when I started my career. There’s no free lunch, despite what Obama said early on. ACA has redistributed a lot from employed folks with private coverage to the uninsured and (to a lesser extent)…
At least historically, societies with less diversity are more willing to create a strong safety net, because in American parlance, “assholes leaching off the system” are the same as you.
“Sachs points to the profound racial and ethnic segregation of our society”
Um, good for you?
It’s amazing to me that you blame President Obama for all of this.
I like the part where the Warriors were up by 3*, talked some shit, and then lost.
I like the part where Brown walked back to the bench and didn’t even look at Curry. And also the part where the Warriors lost.
It’s strange that sports bloggers desperately want someone who is basically a kid to go away forever and get no second chances. Sports bloggers who by-and-large don’t understand impoverished communities and how prevalent violence in them is by both men and women.
I’m kind of stuck here, if someone does something horrible in their past, should they be treated like a monster forever. I’m in no way condoning his behavior but is there a way to support the victim, help her heal, and also hope Mixon gets punished then tries his best to atone?
Thanks for the monthly Deadspin outrage at joe mixon article.
How would you have handled it differently? And how do you know for sure no one called him a racial slur? Mixon is awful but you make no real points here.
In an effort to discredit another journalist, you bizarrely claim that you have proof that no racial slur was uttered at Mixon, then link to a story that does not back up your claim at all. Nice work.
I don’t think it’s semantics to clarify and discuss. Isn’t discussion why we are posting here?
I think there is a big difference between being civil and polite and having extended conversations not related to the task at hand. Someone who’s being paid to shuttle you to your desired location shouldn’t also be expected to entertain you while they are doing their job.
I mean sure, I wouldn’t want my driver to be a complete asshole. But one thing I hate is when the driver tries to start up a conversation. Just no, I’m really not interested in your last vacation and I don’t feel like telling you my life story.
the driver has no obligation to have a conversation with the passenger (and vice versa)
I don’t like it when passengers talk to me.
Um, no. The first rule of journalism - okay, the second after getting it right - is to own the shit you publish. That’s the nature of public discourse. The student thought the campus paper was a place to play as a snowflake. If anything, he wanted his public accolades and to eat his cake too - and he got schooled.…
