Hmm, I don't see MacGruber on this list…

I gathered Fred Armisen had a Zooey Deschanel impression in his back pocket and they just wanted to let him use it.

I felt like his appearance was seriously designed in part to address/defuse that issue— not only did they have him playing a mega-douche, but one who lied constantly.

Don't make fun!

Isn't the Utility Room joke from "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy"? Or did they re-use it here?

The first handful of episodes were holdovers from the season 9 production cycle. The season 10 cycle has very little to recommend it, although "Mayored to the Mob" is a highlight for sure.

That's probably right— was Lovitz even in the cast in the 90s?

Prepare to be… well… you know.

If the AV Club says it, it's set in stone! Simpsons Classic ends at season 9! Eat all of our shirts, double-digit season truthers!

"Balsam Specific?! Oh! While we're burning money, why don't we give her a Curative Galvanic Belt too!"

Can I play the Hitler anymore?

Dennis, sit down.

I didn't feel that way because it seemed clear that Bow's mother's discomfort with money was a natural part of her anti-materialist, hippie lifestyle, and naturally she would pass that on to Bow as well.

I thought some of the bits were funny, but for sure there was some out of character / implausible stuff, and I feel like this show gets really slipshod in its plotting. I don't think the runtime is long enough for three plots. So instead of hitting plot points A, B, and C, you hit A, then have a scene where C is

"The perfect grade. You pass, but you're still hot."

Hey, you weren't supposed to notice that!

There just isn't enough time with the way the show is structured to have all the plots they want to. Every week I feel like one of the plots is just rushed through with not even the most basic beats, as one of the critical plot events will be explained by one character to another afterward rather than shown.

They did address money— Dev's been getting by with the residuals from his national commercials. Plus, he got paid for The Sickening, if not all that much.
