Except that these planes never left the country, heck they didn’t even leave the west coast, just a test flight and a ferry flight as the customer never took delivery.

Yeah. I was expecting some semi-scandalous story about used plains. Instead it’s an article about two brand new airframes from cancelled orders that never left the US.

Ok, everyone just stop right there. These planes were built but never delivered. They have been in Boeing’s possession since new. Look, I realize the Russian jokes just write themselves, but in this case...nope. They can’t have been repo’ed because they were never delivered in the first place.

It’s a funny joke and all but these have literally never even been to Russia. (Nor are they even used) These were pending orders yet to be delivered that cancelled when the airline went bankrupt.

It’s completely misleading to call these “old Jets from Russia.” Misleading to the point of objective dishonesty.

Likely due to their lack of procedures for testing and the fact that they just assume the technology they put into their vehicles was vetted by other companies since they are always late to the party.

I think you’re the first person that I’ve come across that does not like 5 cylinder sound. I think they sound amazing, I own an old Audi 20vt.

That’s why I bought my e38. I wanted something that 4 people could be very comfortable in for road trips to concerts and sporting events. It’s a little large for tight quarters - like parking lots, but on the highway it’s great, and get fairly decent fuel economy for a large car with a V8 (highest I’ve gotten is 25.)

Automation has been replacing human jobs en mass since the 1820's. 1440.

You have no perspective based on history. You act like this is something new.

Automation has been replacing human jobs en mass since the 1820's. There’s nothing new here. Automation simply lets humans perform the asks they’re better suited to. Automation is very expensive and very difficult to have behave flexibly.

You’re exactly right about trains. But I used to drive long haul routes (not with a semi, but like horse trailers and campers) and the worst part was just trying to pay attention to the road at 3 am in the desert. When I think of autonomous trucks, I think of them taking over in those situations. But I think it would

Most people who think long haul trucking is a great and simpler application for autonomous driving have no experience in the wide variety of situations that arise during a route. And why isn’t there any effort to automate the rails? Other than unions? It’s an infinitely simpler application - controlled crossings,

I don’t think people really grasp how much automation has already happened.

God forbid you ever come up against the Dishonorable Artillery Company.

How can you even afford to look at these vehicles you filthy peasant

Better than all the anti-Trump propaganda opinion pieces being cross-posted to the car section of the site.

Just what we need, more people distracted by screens in a car.

Different =/= better. I am resistant to changes that suck.
