I agree, but I often dread how that exchange would go down. Here how I imagine such a conversation with Fusco would go:

It's an interesting perspective but I don't agree that Samaritan is discouraging "wolfish" behavior in general. In fact, it encourages it among its assets and seeks out only the best and determined. The problem only arises if you stand in its way, and I don't think it discriminates based on certain human traits. If

Some of these points are really spot on theoretically and I wish the show delved into or explored some of these in greater detail instead of mostly jumping from Samaritan's involvement in the events on a case of the week basis, which at worst seem disjointed and at best don't always match up or connect together well

Unfortunately like most of humanity, the AV Club is prone to errors in reasoning and judgement. Actions may be taken in the future to remedy this.

Clearly Samaritan isn't afraid of breaking a few eggs to change the world order. But what if an ASI like the Machine was? Would you be willing to let it collect data and make decisions knowing it would be infinitely more productive and accurate than any person or team of people ever could be? It's a difficult question.

She was always the black swan of the Team Machine family. WHY WAS SHE WEARING WHITE?? #missedopportunity

Right, and it's also the last thing you put in before you exit a function/method or section in the older programming languages.

I agree in a way about Amy Acker's performance, but she was far from the central aspect of this episode. The Shoot relationship jumped out at me at first but it's out there now and I think it's been executed fairly well up to and including this episode.

I agree with you about John's relationship flip-flopping, but I assumed it was possibly because they were reassessing the direction in which they were taking the character given the show's impending conclusion.

I enjoyed the Reese episode, if only because it was more character building and flashback heavy, which I quite enjoy. The mundane numbers of the week procedural structure is what does me in most of the time.

The one thing I think I'm a little disappointed with is the prevalence of this type of episode so close the to finish line. While there were plenty of other things going on in the background like Bruce Moran and the Samaritan vs Machine "chess game", it was apparent almost immediately that Samaritan was behind the

I got the impression that three shots fired meant she was most likely dead, but I guess you could be right. The contents of the hard drive were also spread across the internet, so if this does have something to do with the endgame I'm not sure where they could be taking it.

This was a solid episode which was understandably overshadowed by the the previous '6,741' (obligatory screw you CBS for the two episode a week burnoff!). I'm not sure if the end game of this case-of-the-week is going to somehow tie into the rest of the season or if it was just another example of how Samaritan is very

Prediction time!! The season is already 5 episodes in, so here are my predictions for the fate of the main characters in the final episodes:
I hate to admit it, but I have a very unsettling feeling that Finch will meet his demise at the end of the show. The season 4 finale could have been a great way for the series to

Yes, after a while it became quite obvious that Root was stimulated simulated.

It's difficult to tell if Shaw was rebelling against the simulation in the moments she seemed in control or the ones where she lost time. The argument could be made for either. For example, she had the gun and explosives in the bathroom, perhaps she wanted to blow herself up right then and there to end the simulation.

"OhShitShitShitShit" in a good way or a bad way..?

Exactly. While it wasn't clear if Shaw was most in control in her episodes or between them but what's obvious is that she began to realize that she was no longer fully in control of her actions or the world around her. Perhaps a lot of trial and error went into getting her to 6741, but it wasn't necessarily anything

Thanks POI; I am never, ever, ever getting a VR Headset.

I think they took the suggestion that the show 'needs more Root' literally.
