Yes! And five speed manuals!!!
Yes! And five speed manuals!!!
Ridiculous. The whole ‘limit the number of engines’ was afaik supposed to be a cost-cutting measure....now the teams are twice as hosed when an engine breaks. They have to pay for the stupidly expensive engine and lose additional money on the bad race result.
Considering that this truck was always intended as a desert runner-type vehicle, this is pretty good. I think it would be a bit obnoxious to expect it to handle Rubicon-level trails... For that you buy a (preferably older) Jeep.
I know right? Especially when Aston Martins come with TWO Ford V6s with half the price.
This car isn’t about preserving the history of the Ford GT’s of yesterday, its about writing the history of the Ford GT of tomorrow. Its about once again shitting on European race cars in Fords way. Back then, that was with a big V8, today it is with a blown V6. I admit, a blown 5.2L voodoo V8 would make for one hell…
*In a class of cars with all that and more, as well as V8, V10s, and V12s.
A V6 from an endurance race car that makes more than 600 horsepower in a carbon fiber body with carbon ceramic brakes, a DCT and incredibly advanced Aero* Fixed it for you.
$400k.
It’s bloated, oversized and too tall. The doors look like they could conceal a Miata and they look ridiculous unless they have tires and wheels on them to disguise their girth. The original was svelte, muscular but also elegant. This is not.
Why? I don’t see a single thing about it that looks anachronistic. It looks like a replica of a car that could have existed in 1930. It’s not retro in the same way that using a 1960s reproduction Mustang body shell with modern running gear is not retro.
I love the way it looks, when you park one beside a 1970 Challenger they still look very similar (head lights, body lines, etc). Can say that much for the Camaro or Mustang.
I disagree. It was retro done right.
You are wrong. Get out.
In this case the revival of the nameplate primed the public to expect a great retromod. Instead they got, well a Holden with hood scoops. Not that it was a bad car, but the reuse of the nameplate evoked the idea of a retro revival that ended up flopping. It should have been it’s own vehicle, not a GTO.
“Better” is a nebulous term. Do any of your so called “better”, so called “cars” haveTURBO decals? Unless the answer is yes, they aren’t better.
Can this video please go viral? It would be nice to have more positive news involving police activity. Especially since it covers the non-criminal related work they do every single day.
