My reason for being a woman is that I am one, a trans woman’s reason for being a woman is that she is one. That’s what our brains say. You can’t say something is inconclusive and then conclude everything. But there are plenty of findings (=facts) and probable theories on these findings in these articles alone that…
Did you read the links, cause they basically already counter all of what you’re saying here and are part of my backing. I mean, they’re not blog posts, they’re good articles by legit publications about scientific findings.
The definition of gender that we’re discussing is the inate differences between men and women (and any gender-labels in between those). You’re saying there are two genders, men and women, penis and vagina respectively, and transgender people are just confused by gender roles and intersex people don’t count. Yes? I’m…
I think gender is neurological differences in some way connected to genetics/hormones. I think similar to sexual orientation, gender is a spectrum. I think I’m really interested in future findings on the subject.
If by “look like a man” you mean “look like they were born”(look like cis-gender men) and by “dress like a man” you mean “wear the clothes the patriarchy has arbitrarily decided are for men”, then yes, ideally they could do that and still have their gender respected. Gender is not genitals or looks and gender roles…
Actually not all transgender people get surgery at all. Part of what the transgender community is actually asking for is for people to recognize the difference between being transgender and getting surgery, and for people to be able to change their gender on documentation without having to have surgery.
I don’t think you need to reach the heights of”superhero” to not put 16 bullets into someone and kill them. He had options to avoid getting stabbed other than murder, so that’s what he should have gone with. This is not “just doing his job”. Just because the murder victim wasn’t a harmless black kid this time but…
You call it “involuntary abuse”, like the things nuns sign up for are “voluntary abuse”. You don’t see how a young girl might sign up for something extreme in theory she misjudged in practice? That doesn’t make it not abuse. I’m sure this woman thought she was going into this eyes wide open and I’m sure looking back…
Yeah, sometimes a few handfuls of people can just make you doubt the point of humanity, I get that. (And I’d just like to emphasize again that I’m not annoyed with you or anything, it was just a built-up reaction to many comments.)
Haha. Jinx? Your reply is excellent. :)
A lot of the people that make up the letters in LGBTQIA face different issues from the other letters. But then there is some overlap, some benefit to numbers, and hopefully more understanding and sympathy for differences in sexual behaviour. These are the benefits to all the letters for joining one community of sexual…
Our society is set up around people being sexual in some areas and environments. There are certain legal differences/benefits that people in relationships have, and asexual people can be in relationships but are obviously not so at the same rate and in the same way as sexual people. Certain social activities like…
OK, sorry I’m venting at you because you just happened to mention tumblr, but I constantly see casually dismissive comments like yours, and it’s just ???.
Everything bellewether8 said about germaine greer and her bigotry first of al, but also i have to disagree with you on how much of a real point it is to talk about any male privilege closeted trans women enjoy:
Ok, so you’re a submissive, or just tired from everything that sucks and you need a strong man to protect you, or something like that. Fine. But don’t essentially make that choice for other people in how you talk about them. Don’t tell other women how they themselves feel, as a group or otherwise. Don’t connect that…
Okay, so it sounds like your father is overly involved and invested in what your genitals look like too, and judges who you are as a person by the state of your genitals too. Would you say that has made you happier?
