I hope they change that stupid thing about the channelers, that men are stronger but women are "dexterous" thats so damn sexist, i can't. But it seems the show already did and I'm liking it

In certain online discussions your view might seem like a minority, but to me it looks like overall it is at least a pretty solid majority view. Meaning although not everyone who tried it liked it, it looks like a significant majority did.

Unpopular opinion: The show was fun and I liked it! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The pandemic really fucked them over for the last two episodes so I’m willing to overlook a few weaknesses here. But overall I thought it was a pretty strong first season.

Lucile Ball was so pretty and Nicole Kidman is so pretty. What the hell happened here?

It baffles me that so many figures in the media are willing to die on the hill of attacking trans people. Do they not know history? How many of those old guys who made their living doing anti black, or homophobic, material are still performing? Virtually none, is the answer, and the ones that are are either doing much

As someone he’s seen far too many idiots like Pratt toss away a good thing for what they thought was “trading up”...I’m willing to stay on the unadulterated asshole side for a while.

I was a month from my due date when pregnant people were added to the vaccine priority list. My doctor and I discussed it, and she felt that because I was so close to my due date, I should wait until after for the jab. I ended up being induced - when I was admitted to the hospital on a Monday, I tested negative for

I personally prefer the metric system over Imperial. And the last couple campaigns I ran, I made a conscious effort to use the metric system for descriptions of distances, weights, etc.

To be honest I feel like my biggest issue is that the Ranger just needs a full overhaul, Sorcerer subclasses need bonus spells known like in Tasha’s, and Artificers need more Level 1 and 2 spells that are unique to them.

So I agree with her, but I don’t necessarily agree with her reasoning. I don’t think representation is the issue. I think it’s highly dependent on the context of the role. If being Jewish is a central part of the character’s identity then it should be played by a Jew. If it’s a character who just happens to be Jewish

My first reaction was grumpiness; I’m Jewish, but my mother converted prior to my birth. So I’m always a bit touchy when there’s a discussion about Jewishness as a flat-line identity; it’s hard to feel “Jewish enough” in a lot of communities.

But I looked a bit deeper to see what Sarah meant and actually, yeah. It is

I agree with you and don’t understand why this is being treated so dismissively.

There is definitely merit to what Sarah Silverman is saying. And as a Jewish woman who runs in circles with other Jewish women, we’ve all been talking about it non-stop since the video went up yesterday.

Silverman shouldn’t hold her breath. Antisemitism seems to be the one form of oppression that the woke faction handwaves away, barring some sort of Charlottesville-type display.

My immediate thought re- the MET Gala was that she was there to cultivate some support from rich liberals looking to boost their progressive bona fides by donating to a wildly popular grassroots progressivist candidate.

Except Pelosi is retiring the Speakership next year, and many of the others are roughly her age and won’t stay in those positions too long either. I guess AOC can always serve a term or two as a Senator, then come back to the House and run for Speaker. Then return to the Senate and run for majority leader. Then run

oh noes she failed an impossible purity test, we’d better eat her

The language in this article kind of uncritically perpetuates a medical model of autism as something wrong with kids that needs to be fixed - without problematizing that framing.

Gaprindashvili probably doesn’t have a legal case here, but it still feels like Netflix did her dirty. The line mentioning her only playing women is the only acknowledgement she gets in the whole movie, which sucks considering that the main character is partly based on her; specifically on the fact that Gaprindashvili
