Has Giz gotten way more homophobic/idiotic lately or is it just me? Using dick sucking as a pejorative is sexist and homophobic because it implies that it makes you lesser if you do it. It’s one of the worst insults that guys use with each other because if you suck someone’s dick it means you’re less of a man because

This was about $50 cheaper than a 2015 refurb with the same storage (128 is just too low). Clock speed is slower, but the processor is 10-20% better performing and has better graphics. I think they sped up the storage speed as well? It’ll be even at least, I think. It is kind of crap that they don’t have the faster

I did not even notice the color difference after I clicked the cheaper one, lol. I’ll be plenty happy with space grey. Thanks for letting me know, though :)

Thanks, Shep! I ordered the silver one. My pro has been dying for ages, but with the price hike, I was speccing out a macbook air . This was actually cheaper and has a newer architecture. I appreciate the heads up.

It’s subjective and that’s the point. There are alternate interpretations of the text so maybe don’t immediately discount those of a minority group? Especially considering queer women represented 2% of tv characters last year and 10% of deaths.

To any lesbian this statement is hilarious. The movie has a line where Andy takes Miranda’s call and her boyfriend throws out something like, “The person whose calls you answer is the relationship that you’re in.” Fairly popular in lesbian circles as a ship.

It doesn’t matter at all if a half white/half asian plays a full blooded asian on film. That’s just a random happening and choosing someone qualified for the role. It matters A LOT if it’s a majority of them. One is a happenstance and really isn’t important at all. The other shows a bias towards asian people with more

Give it a go. Jessica Jones is more gut wrenching, tense, and horrific in terms of sexual violence than GoT. There are so many ‘show how it really was’ arguments in this thread but GoT doesn’t realistically show sexual violence. It’s through a male lens and doesn’t focus on the women involved. It’s stylized and it’s

You claim I’m uniformed and use a poorly written article without citations as a rebuff? Really?

I already listed what they should do, as did the article above. Watch Jessica Jones. That is how you handle a trauma storyline well. It’s horrible and hard to watch, but it’s woman focused and never about male fantasy.

Yes. People are pointing out how the argument that it’s ‘realistic for the time period’ is bullshit and it’s just male rape fantasy. That’s the point being made.

...it’s set in a completely fictional world with dragons. And the middle ages weren’t that sexually violent towards women. It can also show violence as women in terms of being ABOUT the women involved and not the men around them. It can also be shot in a way that isn’t exploitative. If you don’t like don’t watch

...she literally told you the answer in the article. Stop treating sexual violence as titillation. Focus on the stories of the women involved rather than using it as fodder for a man’s pain. Don’t show the actual scene as a sort of torture porn that actual rapists can get off to. Stop using it as a plot device when

I’m not excited for this. Love Supergirl, but Cat Grant was really one of the best parts of the show. Generic editor and chief dude can in no way replace her and I think it’ll toss the show girl power balance off a bit with J’onn being back in control of the DEO.

10% of TV deaths this season have been queer women. They account for less than 2% of TV characters. So...yes. They are being killed at about 5x the rate that they should be.

THR is reporting that Calista is a go!

People create the story. People can change the story. A story isn't absolute and set in stone. People can choose not to use shitty tropes in the story. A story is created by and for human beings. The creator of the story can choose not to use overdone plotlines that damage actual people. If a writer can’t think of

The problem IS that showrunners don’t seem to know what to do with lesbian characters OTHER than to kill them. If theybonly chatacters they think to make gay are the ones who die, it’s a problem.

I loved last night’s episode and the red!k episode from the week before. Melissa Benoist is a perfect Supergirl. I love Calista Flockhart as Cat. Really I’m down with the whole female cast. I wish they’d skipped the Catco stage for Lucy as much as her scene with Cat was AMAZING. I understand it isn’t ‘high brow
