Yes, I am tired of all these season-ending shakeups that have no long-term impact on the characters. Will prison experience affect Jake’s approach to his work? Probably not, because none of his previous contrivances (undercover with the mob, in protective custody in Florida) did.

Why doesn’t Tim Meadows have a starring role in a sitcom somewhere? I hadn’t realized how much I missed him until he popped up on this.

I agree — it felt wrapped up too quickly and tidily at the end of the second episode. And this show pretty much always needs more Rosa.

The three-player games in TTR are really where you have to think strategically, because there’s no double-tracking and lots of competition for some of the key cities. Definitely much harder than either a two-player game (so much space!) or a four-player game (double-tracking saves the day).

Very happy to help!

Holt cocking his head to get a better view of whatever was going on with Hitchcock was definitely my highlight of the episode.

Given that I saw a report today that platforms see a 60% drop in pageview after a pivot to video . . . no, these pivots are not based on any valid data.

I disagree — I have more than had my fill of Pimento. It has maybe been worth it for scenes where Diaz is trying to figure out exactly how many scorpions are at their hideout in Argentina, but I generally find him exhausting.

I think it’s also that the writers really tried to make Paris and Emily fully fleshed-out characters over time, but Rory remained kind of one-note.

It’s too bad that the show couldn’t stick the landing, long-term, with Luke and Lorelai, because I have a deep and abiding love for “Raincoats and Recipes”. When I first started dating my now-husband, it was at the end of an incredibly challenging stretch in which I pulled off a major work accomplishment while also

Ninjago has made it to seven seasons on TV. And I will give it a tiny bit of credit for being less terrible than Chima (which, how that dumpster fire made more than one season I’ll never understand).

I was watching the truth or dare scenes going ohhhhhhh, right, that’s the kind of shit we got up to when parents weren’t around. And that’s the kind of weird shit my kids will be getting into.

Ooooh, TJ was the fucking worst . . . except that he was good for Liz. My memory is fuzzy but I think he really did help Liz get her shit together. (Also, shoutout to Kathleen Wilhoite, who made a career of playing flaky-sisters-to-main-characters-oh-hey-can-you-watch-my-kid-while-I-just-go-down-the-street-for-a-sec?)

The scene of Lorelai, Sookie, and Michel (and Jackson?) in the zucchini patch has always been one of my favorites. I love the role that the Dragonfly Inn plays throughout the series (including the revival), and how the fourth season pulled off the opening of the Inn and Luke and Lorelai getting together.

I think that college football is rapidly losing share in California, too. One of my favorite stats is that Ohio has more Division I-A (sorry, FBS) football teams than California. Most of the people who care about college football in Northern California are 40+ alumni of either Cal or Stanford.

When I watched football, I found that it was really easy to get stuff done during it. There’s a quick play, and then 30 seconds of standing around. Add in replays, reviews, and commercials, and I could grade a full set of physics lab reports during Monday Night Football.

I love these two episodes so much that I can barely put together coherent sentences about them. The one good thing about the revival was how it seriously and thoughtfully extended Emily’s character arc, and reading these recaps it’s nice to see how her dissatisfaction with the high society life really did start in

Ooh, I like the question of whether Rory would have hindered Jess’s personal growth at this stage. She very well might have. In the later seasons and revival I like to think of him as her “get-a-grip” friend — the one person who can actually kind of push her and be honest with her in a way that no one else can.
