How long should it take for a guy whose job is to speak for god and be infallible to fix a broken system? Hmmmm, how about long enough to declare that anyone who abuses is fucking excommunicated, and all records they have of their abuses will be turned over to the relevant authorities.

That the Catholic Church turn in priests suspected of child sexual abuse. Priests aren't above the law.

How the fuck is this a sane response to this issue?

O_o

Nothing that is as bad as systematic child rape, I can assure you.

Well, not the systemic covering up of the sexual assault of children, no.

Jesus.... our pope standards are SO LOW if everyone is flipping their shit because this guy is APOLOGIZING for systematically defending child rapists for decades (probably much longer).

Only if the other person is reasonable and willing to listen. If someone already has a made up mind with no intention of changing then, all facts and logic in the world with not persuade them. Like telling someone ice is cold, see look at the temperature readout and they respond with hell that crap burns, it must be

Put shorter... yes rational arguments can change minds. ..but not on the internet.

If you're unattractive to women, their rejection and neglect of you is what's supposed to happen. That you would want to inflict the same on gay men is disgusting.

"Elliot Rodger and company aren't the mentally ill outliers that the media (and the NRA) depicts them as. They're much more common than we want them to be. They're capable of being functional members of society."

If you run barefoot, you strike with your midfoot. Most running shoes teach you to strike with your heel.

You're all or nothing stance is becoming as grating as Hamilton Nolan's style. It's not that you have bad ideas but can you work on delivering it in a more even manner?

You just described a minimalist shoe.

People like to mock things that are different, calling people 'idiots' for trying something new instead of doing the same old thing. It never changes.

Are people honestly criticizing their appearance? Most running shoes nowadays come in a rainbow of neon colors that are just as bad.

Good point. My wife started on grass too and slowly worked her way up to pavement and long distances. They should come with a disclosure statement and training suggestions. But then not as many people would buy them because changing their routine would be too inconvenient.

As a FiveFingers longtime user and fan, I can honestly say that this is the results of complete idiots using the footwear. If one takes precautions and eases into 'barefoot' running as recommended this wouldn't be an issue. I 100% agree with McDougall's assessment, and bikram granola dreadlocks paleo wheatgrass

I wear 5 fingers to run and most injuries (anecdotal) that I've heard of are from people who are just starting. They take the shoes out for runs like they are any other pair of sneakers. 3 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles out of the box. If you've never worn these before the breaking in period takes time. It's not the shoes,
