I got plenty of spankings as a young kid. When I got to Jr. High, my dad tried to go the military route and make me do push-ups and “ski drills” (back against the wall in a sitting position with nothing to sit on). It didn’t last long because he was surprised that I could actually do the punishments with little strain

Hey, if Sons of Anarchy is good enough for Malcolm Jamal Warner then it can’t be all bad!

Keep in mind that “diversity” means different things in different countries. In the post-Brexit UK, there were racist slurs against Polish people, for example. Plenty of Europeans seem to have issues with different kinds of white people, so homogeny isn’t always about who isn’t white like it is in the US.

Third option: He’s going the Babyboomer route of “I’m going to get mine and burn everything down after me.” He’s not concerned about other people that aren’t in his immediate circle so he’s not interested in fixing the system to help others, but to pillage the system and leave nothing behind.

If you need to reconcile your faith with your morality, then focus on all the compassionate parts of what Jesus said and did while taking the rest as “historical” information (as in, this is the process that things went through to get to this point) for context.

“...non-crazy Muslims then they needed to speak up? It was a dumb thing to say. I speak and I get...”

I would posit that it has more to do with “questioners” vs. “conformists”. Yes, higher education can promote skepticism and questioning, but there are plenty of college graduates out there who are clearly conformist, unimaginative squares.

Once, years ago, I happened upon a message board where there were long and heated conversations and debates about which region in India was home to true Aryans. This term Aryan, though it has a different meaning in that part of the world, was being used in the same context of “racial supremacy” that Nazis use. They

“The abusive father used an open hand to hit his kid this time so this was a better Thanksgiving than last year.”

Dumb. I had a boss for a year who ended up leaving the company and found out two years later that he used to be a woman. I would have gone my entire life never knowing he was trans had it not been brought up by people who knew him personally.

I never liked the “guy you’d have a beer with” thing. I always thought, “but, doesn’t that guy have shit to do?”

I COME FROM THE FUTURE. Jon Stewart’s comment that W. Bush’s administration would be “hard to top” for material is so adorable. I long for a simpler time...the middle of the Iraq War :P

You gotta understand, Poe’s Law is in full effect as of January 20.

Re: all the #notallwhitewomen indignation.

I’m laugh-crying over how this is literally the only presidential candidate/president-to-be that this kind of story could ever stick to. If this kind of story came out about McCain or Romney, it would have been laughed away and any reporter above TMZ grade would have been fired for writing about it.

Ideology isn’t what matters for most of these guys. It’s all about getting noticed to compensate for their own feelings of a lack of self-worth. If they had any real concern for ideology, then their arguments would have some sort of basic internal consistency. Real Nazis and Neo-Nazis actually believe that shit and

Can we stop calling this a “Democracy” already? That one misuse of terms is what invalidates this whole argument.

I felt that way until I went to Oregon’s South Coast for a couple days on a work trip. Lots of Trump stickers and conversations that sounded like a bad After School Special written by Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. It was all about how frail yet dangerous Hillary was and almost nothing positive about Trump. Not even

It’s because she’s a woman who doesn’t seem very fun and has an annoying voice when she speaks loudly.

“As a young, first-generation male...”
