Our birth rate is just fine. In fact, without immigration we would be shrinking at a potentially unsustainable rate. (Shrinking the population too quickly can cause some serious problems with taking care of the elderly.)

So... he got mad at HER because HE put vodka in the bottle? Alrighty, then...
The complaint said he continued to yell at her, threw a bottle at her, pushed her and grabbed her by the neck so hard she was unable to speak.
Poor Mother and baby. Seriously, that first month of newborn care is hard work between newborn and recovery and to have an asshat like that around UGH.

Meanwhile the folk cast as “servants” were all “to hell with this,” quitting in droves. Everyone thinks they were Queen Elizabeth I, no one thinks they were the servant cleaning the queen’s chamber pot,…

I know it’s not the Victorian Era but I finally watched “The Magdalene Sisters” which is a film based on a true story of Irish women being interred at a wash house. One woman was there for having a baby out of wedlock, another for getting raped by her cousin, and the last for flirting. Flirting. Highly recommend…
