The woolly hat is the most perplexing part of this story.

As a knitter I’m very impressed by her colorwork (because anything more than stripes scares me) but confused how she can do that but find a top down sweater so hard AND have gaps at the neckline. But hey, props to her because that is QUITE the labor of love.

I think she’d have had a much easier time knitting a raglan if she did it top down, in the round, as one piece with no seams, but apparently she knit each piece flat and seamed them together. The progress pics I saw showed the neckline separate from the rest of the body, so the holes were probably from where she sewed…

100% correct. no neckline should ever look like that. like, i get that final laziness when you’re finishing a project and you’re just like kill me i want to be done with this and on to the next, but i can’t imagine ever creating that neckline and being like “yup, let’s give this to my idol”

THANK YOU. Intarsia is a pain in the ass, but raglans are like nbd and that neckline is completely. unacceptable. this is the shit that makes people wrinkle their noses when I mention that knitting is one of my passions. I make gorgeous, complicated works of art that look professional af. this is some hobby lobby shit.

Also, as far as sweaters go, raglan is actually easy af.

The color work looks great- no holes in her intarsia(b/c SURELY she isn’t carrying that many stitches) and for that I salute her. I’m surprised that since she was doing intarsia she didn’t go top down from the neck line like Tin Can’s Flax
