sssshhh you’re making them look cool and aspirational

three months later their brain is gone

Sorry about your tubes. My sister-in-law just got hers done, but I think she had to tacitly threaten to sue the clinic before they’d do it for her. The number of women who want permanent birth control and just can’t get it is shocking to me.

this is the thing- I have friends who have switched between numerous hormonal methods trying to find the thing that least impacted them, and I’d rather just... not. (As if I don’t have enough problems with my mood and weight as is...)

so um I have actually done this before, I know about uteruseses. I just thought I’d read somewhere that they could be placed immediately (since the IUD doesn’t depend on the size of the uterus so much as the cervix).

yeah, well, ask me when the divorce papers are served and I’m sure I’ll have a different outlook :)

You know, outlawing feels like it probably won’t happen (I think it’s fairly low on the agenda) but certainly losing coverage after a possible ACA repeal is a real and immediate concern and I wouldn’t blame any of those women for taking action now.

uh, I don’t think? We’re pretty firmly shacked up at the moment. But he has always wanted more kids than I have, and I don’t think it’s unlikely that he might go on to have more with someone else someday. I meanwhile will be sufficient with the two we’ll have and would like to shut things down quasi-permanently after

Right, as if “loving” a culture enough could ever authorize you to speak for its people.

The age concern... is real, sure, but I think often over-stated. You’ll also have better access to genetic counseling and testing; depending on your state of residence, it may be mandatorily covered by your insurance. The point is, don’t give up on having a baby after 35 or whatever; it’s just a slightly changed set

Aw man. Bless her, bless her practice, bless us all.

uh

I hear you, and I’m sorry that a hard situation has gotten even harder for you. Remember that there are long-term but not permanent options, including implants and IUDs, that take away the problem of remembering to take your pills. None of these are foolproof, obviously, but both IUDs and implants can be removed

WELL DONE. I wouldn’t ask that of mine because there’s always the possibility that we’ll split up, I’ll buy that goat farm out in the country and start my maiden aunts’ commune, and he’ll move on to make more babies with someone else.

I’m doing Paragard because I have hangups surrounding hormonal birth control in general. Sort of just accepting that I’ll bleed like a stuck pig at this point.

I admit I thought they could just slip it in right after birth; I’m a little annoyed I have to wait until my 6-week checkup to get it in. Maybe I should just get my tubes tied instead?

I talked to my OB about getting an IUD installed after I give birth MONTHS ago. Admittedly, that was before the current shituation, but it sure seems much more important now...

Serious question: has Jared Kushner actually graduated high school yet?

please take your newfound pegging kink elsewhere thx

That number caught me too. 33% of patrol officers truly don’t believe that rape exists. I’ll definitely consider that if I am ever in a position to report.
