Hot damn, it appears I’ve finally had a rational thought!

I’m seconding Tracy’s recommendation. You can quite easily get one of the last few model years with less than 50K miles in the price range he’s looking for.
I’d just traded up from a del Sol VTEC
The other thing you kind of got wrong was the LS’s greatest feature for me. I’m a Texan and I had never driven in snow until I moved to Ohio for 4 years to learn a new job position (I design buildings) and I took my 250k mile 1997 Lexus LS400 with me and it never slipped 6" in the snow - ever. I also never plowed my…
Driving a car from showroom new to 1 million miles in a (relatively) short period of time is a feat of driving. That’s a person who did an amazing, physical, challenge. All they had to do was maintain the car according to spec (starting with a perfect example, mind you), and just, drive a lot.
Decided it no longer liked running on gas, decided it’s oil seemed tasty.
*looks outside at 94 Voyager with blown motor at 240k*
to be fair, the car is the celebrity here...it’s just recognized by the owners name.
I think it should be carefully restored. The car has earned it!
Ccorrection: He didnt drive a Lexus to 1 million, he bought a Lexus at 900k and drove it 100k to 1 million. There are people out there who have actually driven their cars from mile 1 to one million. In my eyes he just drove a car 100k miles....
“Nice car: let's ruin it!"
Excuse me for the dumb and OCD question. Are those headlight lenses glass or poly carbonate? They sure look clear for this vintage and mileage. I can’t imagine any of the miracle restore polishes doing such a good job. Perhaps they have been replaced with newer ones?
My dad leased 3 of these way back when; a 1990, 1993 and 1996. As I was in college then and drove shitboxes, the few times I got to borrow his car I was amazed at the quiet. Like, shit I’m doing 90? But then he had to get all crazy and lease a Jag XJ-R because he wanted to go fast. Or something.
Having owned a first gen example at one point in my life, myself, I can’t say that I’m really surprised. Mine was a 1991 model that I purchased when it was 8 years old and a little shy of 90K on the clock in 1999. Even at that age, it felt more solid than my girlfriends then new Volvo S70 T5. So much so that she often…
It is. It is Matt Farah’s million mile Lexus.
“Wow. I never realized that. Chevy is hitting it out of the park!” -Real Person
Still not reliable as a Chevy.*
Ok. now what?
