In a similar position, I ended up with a Honda Accord 2.0t sport with the manual. Very roomy backseat if that is of interest, and generally sharper than i expected. Very happy with that choice. But if its just the two you have named, I have to lean GTI. 

GTIs are great but you’ve had one.  The Genesis is unique.  I say go Genesis.

These are fundamentally different cars, but I like that you’re cross-shopping them. I vote for the Genesis because it’s RWD.

The chauffeur can open the front and rear (rear-opening) doors to 45º, and open the umbrella in the gap to give (primarily female)

Puddle lights are fine and I welcome them. Now having a puddle light shine the emblem on the ground, that’s a different story
