You missed the bigger story: this guy almost crashed into a precious old Mercedes S-Class (look to the right of the Grand Cherokee). Imagine he had destroyed a beautiful 1980 450 SEL 6.9. Now that would have been tragic indeed. The Porsche is replaceable.

this Ford campaign was absurd at the time and it hasn’t aged well. I was a kid at the time and my dad (a Mercedes customer) and I thought this was utterly ridiculous. The one I specifically remember was the comparison between the S Class and a Grenada sedan (both silver and nearly identical to the naked eye :))
the 996 is hideous both inside and out. How Porsche managed to apply the absolute worst interior AND worst exterior design of any 911 is impressive. That’s why it is the absolute worst 911 ever. Resale value proves it.
so maybe do what Alyssa Milano did and buy a VW electric car and ignore VW’s roots (hint: the guy had a small mustache).
The Q50 is embarrassing now. How many years can it go on unchanged?
We are Acura folks mainly due to the MDX. When the MDX arrived (late 90s), there was nothing like it. And 22 years later it still holds a unique place in the market. Acura has made many mistakes (the beak, etc.) but they seem to be back on track and I look forward to a few more.

For my Infiniti Q50 Red Sport I was offered $4k above my residual value on a lease return by a local Acura dealership. But Infiniti would not allow it and this was apparently a new policy (effective early May) in order to boost the used car inventory of Infiniti dealerships.
I’m reminded of the car casting in Breaking bad in which the protagonist family (very middle class but with financial issues) drove a very nice late 1980s Jeep Wagoneer. Those are known to capture $50k+ if in top condition.
My “old technology” Infiniti Q50 Red Sport hits 0-60 in 4.5. So does a Genesis G70 and Kia Stinger GT. This Acura better be able to do the same or it’s going to be a big disappointment.

Utah does not have a black plate but some enterprising individuals have painted their plates black with white letters (apparently there’s a company in Florida that will do that for a fee). But they are illegal. My colleague here used this option and was recently pulled over for having an illegal plate. $250 fine.

the true test is whether it can hit 0-60 in 4.5 seconds like the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, the Genesis G70 3.3T, and the Kia Stinger GT. That’s the baseline in my opinion, not the Audi S4 or the 340i or MB C whatever
