The Republicans hate that the aid went out at all, but all of the talking points write themselves. They got Ossoff and Warnock elected on that promise yet Joe Manchin just gets to burn it all to the ground. Democrats in disarray!

I also believe that’s the case but the sad point is that the government said that they didn’t deserve the initial $1,200. So any chest puffing on the government’s part about providing aid to people falls flat when some people didn’t get any aid or the full aid that they should have.

The moral burden is on you if the government refuses to help. It’s YOU who let that (mean, racist) human get sicker and die. Just like, say, you don’t give money to someone who is asking on the street. You might spend the rest of your day, week, or years thinking about what you could have done or should have done to

Exactly. And if your social network/social reach isn’t as good as others you won’t meet your goal.

It’s begging with “extra” steps : you have to buy and make products to sell, set up shop, spend hours at the job, do inventory, and so on.

You’re right (again)

Wow-ee! $4,000* dollars over the course of 12 months! You’re welcome, America! Don’t spend it all in one place!

“It’s better than begging”

“I had to suffer so other people should suffer” is what you’re saying because you’ve bought into the lie that America is a meritocracy and that you had to expend blood, sweat, and tears to earn a living wage.

It was her decision, and she kind of does make the rules, in the same way that judges, no matter how much some want to say otherwise, make law even when interpreting statutes.”

I’m sure her job has a lot of nuance but isn’t it basically: “The rule book says no.”

It’s also very Trumpian.

If I mentioned anything about gender or body image”

I want the $15 minimum wage (now, not in four years) just as much as anyone but why are we trying to fire Elizabeth MacDonough for doing her job?

I’m building off of everyone else’s comments but I think the main thing is to expose the Royal Family to some embarrassment.

It’s a little baffling that they rely on how unremarkable, how indistinguishable they are from their fellow white men that they think this would work.

It’s kind of shitty that you can be a one term congressperson and suddenly be vaulted into the stratus of moderately wealthy Americans. Not to mention the insider trading!

Apparently, a lot of the insurrectionists have been turned in by Facebook “friends” and various people they’ve wronged.

Hasn’t this been common practice for award shows for decades? Butter up critics and judges with exclusive showings, swag bags, actor meet and greets?

Whenever I’m browsing real estate photos I cringe at the though that I’d have to tear up a really expensive/adequate kitchen because I don’t like the HGTV aesthetic. Of course people remodel the kitchen in order to sell the house but having a kitchen that’s already HGTV-ized is offputting.
