Define “overlap” in this context. I’m guessing the vast majority of Seahawks fans in the US live in the Washington/Oregon/Idaho/BC area. There was a Deadspin article a while back that suggested ~66% of NFL fans within 50 miles of Seattle are Seahawks fans. That was the 13th highest number in the league (Saints were #1

(A) “I took a course on it/You should take a course on it” is one of the surest signs of someone struggling to make a coherent argument. I’ve spent a third of my 36 years on Earth taking/teaching graduate courses. If the entirety of your argument is predicated on the hope that I haven’t “take[n] a course on” it, then

That interpretation is entirely in keeping with your question. Perhaps be more detailed in your wording next time.

Or are you saying suggesting that they weren’t looking at him at all? Then why bring him in? Because he’s a nice guy and makes a great Lobster Thermidor? Maybe Carroll had a dodge ball game that week and wanted to get Kaep on his squad? I can’t imagine any coach/GM/owner/player combo in the league caring less about

As in do I think that they were looking to sign him as Wilson’s replacement? No, I do not.

The (massive) difference being that the Seahawks were looking at Kaep as a (hopefully) low-cost backup option. The chances of there being mutual interest in that respect were pretty low. Sherman’s argument, echoed by the comments here, is that Kaep should be starting for some of these teams that have a collection of

The last time we bought a player in June was 05/06 when we bought Per Kroldrup from Udinese for 5M. Also bought Arteta from Sociedad for 2M on July 1st that year. Kroldrup went down as one of the worst transfers in club history. Injured his crotch in training before he ever played a match. Played one league match for

We might but, unlike in previous years it won’t be because we have to (i.e., because we need the money). It’ll be because we think the move will result in a net improvement of the club’s quality.

As an Everton fan, I wouldn’t go that far quite yet. There was a significant gap between us and the quality of the Top 6 and most of those clubs have also improved this summer. Tottenham might be the only club that don’t make a serious move (and they might lose Dier), but they started out way ahead of us. We have a

I’m guessing he meant pajama bottoms, but I’d like to think that he wears a full-on, Everton-themed button-up pajama set to bed every night (except for the nights where he visits prostitutes, of course).

He also revealed that he still wears Everton pajamas, so there’s that.

He’s on for 2 years at 150K/week. He had 18 months at 230K/week left on his United deal. I wish I had the financial flexibility to surrender 80K/week in wages.

I like to think of this deal as Everton letting United borrow Rooney for 13 years in exchange for ~135M (adjusted for inflation) and taking a general headache (Lukaku) off of our hands. Lukaku is an amazing goal-scorer (though he has the first touch of a lame donkey) but he comes with baggage. Furthermore, it’s not

I’m sure cricket is a fine sport (though I don’t really know the rules that well) but they could help themselves out by not dressing like 80 year old men having a 5 AM breakfast at the local VFW hall. You’re athletes — try to appear athletic.

A month? Lukaku can’t go a week without sulking or opening his mouth when it should remain closed.

Absolutely. Hate to have a living legend around to tutor the young players and provide a winning mentality. Everton’s kids are going to be so damaged by learning from one of the best to ever put on cleats.

He won’t leave this summer but I’m sure he’ll consider it once Atletico’s transfer ban expires in January.

You can’t really count the Keane sell-on (25% which Burnley pay, not Everton) and the money still owed for Schneiderlin (most of which has been paid) as those are completely separate deals. If we’re counting those, then I’m adding the 28M United paid for Rooney 13 years ago on to the deal’s total value as well.

Not to mention the 15 million in “easily reachable” add-ons that will go to Everton plus Rooney’s 10M valuation being waived. Deal will be 100M before agent fees, etc.

I think it’d be hard for 100 cars stored in a field to ever look good, and that’s coming from someone who has a significant appreciation for the aesthetic of the automotive art form.
