I haven’t gone to TMS since COTA opened. Gossage has attempted to block both Indy Cars and NASCAR from racing at COTA. He doesn’t care about fans. At all.

I remember a Road and Track review of the Maserati Bora around 1973 (yes, I know I’m old) that said the dash design was “ safety by Gillette”. Looking back at the Bora it’s not that different from a new GTI.
Great. I live right off of Texas 130 which has speed limits of 80 and 85. I drive several hours a week on it in my ‘17 GTI SE manual. Cruising near 90 (with the traffic) it’s pretty quiet. Typically gets 32mpg on that commute.
I got the stick and neither of my kids can drive it. They have zero desire to learn. My wife can drive it but generally won’t. She has a 17 GLI with the DSG. Just as fun IMO, but different. I don’t think you can go wrong with either transmission.
Completely agree. I bought a 2017 SE which was under 26K with the manual. I nearly bought a Golf R but got a car that feels the same anytime you’re going less than 9/10ths and was over 16K cheaper. Also tried to shop JCW Minis but found I’d have to order one to get anything close to what I wanted. Fifteen thousand…
I had a 2001 748 with a big bore kit. I was really fond of that bike. I sold it after 5 or 6 years. To this day I still find the occasional Ducati part in the garage. I never thought of it as unreliable because it never stranded me anywhere. That being said, it did require a fair amount of work. Parts weren’t overly…
Nice list. I didn’t see “Roadhouse Blues”. Possible I just missed it. Lots of interesting choices.
Go check out Justin Verlander’s Tweet. Maybe better than the play?
Or out of the base path.
The Walmart thing is only if you’re traveling and don’t want to take the time to stop at an RV park or whatever. It is intended for overnight only and generally that is what people use it for. You really don’t want to arrive at RV parks after dark anyway as they usually are not staffed then. Overnighting at Walmart…
I believe RV full timers have to have an established permanent address. In some cases it is chosen for tax advantages or legal reasons but most use their original home state.
My wife and I bought 2 Samurais the last year they sold them in the US. Hilarious cars. One black and one red. The black one was a used 79 and the red one was a new 80. The red one had A/C so we used it for road trips. I could adjust the valves in about 20 minutes. You literally could drive flat out most of the time…
I owned 3 XJs and loved all of them. The first was an 84 with the 2.5 and a manual. It did have some issues. I replaced the clutch cylinder 3 times and I always carried a rebuild kit. The cylinder was made by Lucas I believe. The clutch pedal once broke off mid-shift. The alternator bracket broke 2X. The water pump…
That screen is really impressive. I love that it looks to have physical buttons for a lot of functions as well. I traded in a 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn EcoDiesel a few months ago. Darn nice truck. The Uconnect was great initially but after a couple of updates it was getting wonky. Part of the reason I got rid of…
As an official old guy I have a long history of destroying clothing while wrenching. I have gotten better about it over the years but it’s more of an incremental improvement than anything substantive. Than may be mostly having to do with having cleaner vehicles these days. I have never had the balls to start wearing…
I have a 40 foot Tiffin that gets 8-9mpg while carrying up to 8 people and thousands of pounds of additional cargo and towing a Jeep. Said Jeep is a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited with a small lift and 35s that is lucky to get 13.
That’s just silly. I own a 2014 Tiffin. Easily does 85 and cruises nicely at anything below that. I don’t typically drive it that fast but if the road is straight and clear I have no problem doing it.
And poop.
Yes he went off of the track. Live it looked like Kimi moved over to shut the door a little too late forcing Max to run out. Didn’t look like he was going to go completely off until Kimi forced him too. I would think a “no call” would have been appropriate in this case. But that’s just me. The situation would have…
