Sri Lankans may not see themselves as black in the American sense, but guess what? They are, in the eyes of...

Yeah, I’ve always found that so weird. There are always nerdy Black girls that they seem not to see.

This is all up and down my timeline today shared by Black men.. *eyeroll*. This being shared with a Pick Me makes it worse.

Honestly, a lot of nerdy black kids who bcome grown ass black men buy into that “I don’t like black girls because I’m such a nice guy and they all want assholes” mentality, and really it’s just an excuse because almost every man who has referred to himself as a “nice guy” is actually a raging, bleeding asshole. I know

Excellent article, as usual. Of course a person is still Black, and still having a Black experience no matter who they like to spend time with.

Undereducated, consigned to cyclical underemployment, cut off from attaining the women in the videos and movies they watch, unable to articulate personal truths, desperate to belong to something that will make them feel they too have “dragon energy”; this is how capitalism, brands, and even hip-hop thrive—by

So Kanye West yelling at George Bush that he doesn’t care about black people is good.

Obama calling Kanye West a jackass...is good.

Obama being friendly with George Bush...is good?

I don’t get the math, sir. No one else seems to either.

Kanye West started acting childish after his mother died. A child’s natural response

You think so? I don’t think a damn thing is going to happen to him. I think he’ll do his crappy 4 years, get voted out in 2020, and we continue on without having really learned anything or do anything different. I do not have hope for a better future unless there is a significant mass shift in the behavior of our

“These are warped, self-centered people. They often seem imbecilic, and have trouble stringing together coherent sentences. They’re prone to rage-fueled rants and fond of banal non sequiturs. Few of their ideas are founded in critical thinking and a grasp of context, of history, of reality—of anything beyond however

We are a country addicted to nostalgia, but with no regard for history.

And to T.D. William’s point, you could replace “Kanye” with “Trump” in your above comment and it would be just as true.

We are a country addicted to nostalgia, but with no regard for history. Nostalgia is history without moral reckoning; it keeps people pining for golden eras that never existed and anticipating a future that will never materialize.

“They tend to get messy,” the manager reportedly said. “I’m not saying yours are, but you know what I’m talking about.”

I think this strikes to the core of why race and gender issues are tough to get past. You can say “I’m not racist” or “I’m not sexist” and it is true that in your head you feel no ill will towards women or black people but they are still very much the “others” and you can’t empathize. Not very many people are trying

The common denominator, is Afro-Latino women put this together. For every Sammy Sosa there’s four Celia Cruz’s doing the work to unite the diaspora!

Great article enjoyed it. Blessings sister.

No it’s still about skin tone! Then, it’s about whether you’re English or English-adjacent…

Can we extend that one day closing to a one-year closing?
