More Black Girl Magic coming to an Olympic sport near you!

Very astute observation - as a dark skinned cousin of many light to white skinned cousins born of two Black parents and an observer of many bi-racial students who grow up in majority white communities.

I’m 56, grew up in NYC and was never taught to believe in Santa. My dad was from the West Indies and there was no tradition of Santa or all the gift giving. It was about family, church and plenty of good food. My NYC born and bred non-West Indian mom went along with my dad. I knew my dad went out and worked everyday

I hope that Tamron Hall is somewhere smiling. In my mind she refused his advances and that eventually lead to her being dismissed in spite of solid ratings. I abhor sexual harassment but I’m also tired of seeing the Beckys game the system by either going along with situations to get the job or suing and then keeping

Also Georgina was called a “crazy bitch.” I don’t remember the exact scene but I do remember thinking this is Peele’s subconscious comment on Black women. From what I read about his upbringing/education and what I saw of how he portrayed Black women on his comedy show it was clear he doesn’t really know or understand

I lived in Park Slope as a little girl in the 60's when it was still transitioning from Italian to Black West Indians who were buying house in droves. As much as it pains me to admit NYC has always been a city in transition. What gets me really pissed is seeing white folks who are not from NYC claiming it as there own

You hit the nail right on the head. They seem to be using the model used in France where poor Black and Brown people are forced out in to the suburbs and the wealthy whites live in the city.
