I didn’t have Legend, but I did have a Vigor! From roughly late 2002 to early 2004, at which point I gave it to my sister, who kept it until around 2010, when she got tired of it getting stolen for joy rides every month or two and it started to develop transmission issues. Good car, good 5-cylinder engine, great

I have very much enjoyed my traffic-free commute to downtown Seattle this past week. Hopefully a lot of companies realize that telecommuting is great and stick to it, because going back to the usual mess is going to be rough.

I guess this is where I belatedly apologize to my coworkers at the ice cream shop I worked in during high school for my various walk-in freezer shenanigans...except for the coworkers who were partners in said transgressions, of course.

I saw the same thing yesterday and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

I don’t know much about engine design, but I do know this: any layout that looks nonsensical on land probably came off a boat.

That old-school go-anywhere durability is why the Land Cruiser affected is almost certainly the normal 200-series, not the 70, which to my knowledge does not come from the factory with a computerized immobilizer. In Latin America, at least, you can buy a 2020 70-series but you will not get keyless entry.

The 2009-2015 Land Cruiser in question is almost certainly the normal 200-series, not the 70-series pictured. How do I know? The 70-series isn’t available with factory keyless entry or a radio immobilizer in any market I’m aware of.

This is a wildly inaccurate summary of what happened here.

Funny stuff of course, but what a display of wrenching skills over cooking skills.

The solution to this is the PNW: no salt and little snow so not much rust, and fewer hot sunny days to ruin your rubber and plastic parts.

I completely disagree and think that fake “French provincial” in suburban Florida is much uglier and more offensive than authentic modern in southern California, but where we can probably both agree is that these are both monstrosities that should not exist.

Did you not see the view from the pool side?

Good explanation. If I could add up all the hours I’ve spent comment-section lawyering for CLE credit, I’d never have to actually attend one again.

Does “could seek” mean the same thing as “are definitely entitled to” in Sicilian dialect, Vizzini? The California CLRA provides for attorneys’ fees and costs to a prevailing plaintiff, and a UCL claim can support such an award. That might be a good place to start.

The attorneys could seek their fees on top of the award (rather than taking them out of it) since Tesla’s wrongful behavior forced the plaintiff to bring the lawsuit to vindicate their rights in the first place.

No, about a mile and a half away from the Moscone Center. Marked as a hotel...although I personally don’t know if there is actually a hotel of that name at this address. I think Bradley’s discovery that this building contains a music or conference venue is probably the answer.

Good call! Maybe press events there and at the Midtown Hilton?

You entered #1 wrong—it’s East, not West. It’s in China. Location of a supplier, maybe? Several of the others are potentially relevant collaborators or research labs.

Wouldn’t solve the problem of other people.

You know what would help with that? Better transportation policy so that people who don’t want to commute by driving don’t have to, and people who don’t want cars don’t necessarily have to have them just to get to work.
