@beatz: Since they were working for Activision when they developed it the engine would belong to Activision, not them. They'd have to start over from scratch.
@mrpibb79: Unfortunately Kotick and others will still have made a boatload off the company before things go to shit. Lack of accountability is ridiculous these days.
@MooseOfDoom23: Then you should also hate on Valve, Harmonix, Epic, Crytek, and Double Fine. They've all used or are using the EA Partners program to publish games.
@OkayOctane: What you say about employees wanting to keep IW alive might be true. Hadn't really thought of it from that angle, it will be interesting to see how that works out.
@Andy Kohnen: Also, I don't think it would work as an exclusive for someone like Conan who is already huge. Maybe if the show was also avalible online and it came a day earlier to the console or something. I'd think it would work better, to start with anyway, with smaller acts and original programing.
I think having shows through Live is a good idea but a little premature. There aren't enough people with fast enough connections who also have Live to make it work yet. Give it a few more years and that kind of thing could work great especially if Natal can break into the casual market. I'd be happy to start paying…
@packetloss: The font isn't perfect but we definately get the idea. Very nice.
@OkayOctane: I think most people are working under a couple assumptions here:
@[ZTF]Auspiciously Liminal: People used to say the same thing about Tony Hawk.
@Ironfungus: If EA is such a bad publishing partner then why would Valve use them?
@TheSpecial1: I think most of them will probably leave for Respawn eventually but it'll be a bit yet. The employees at IW need paychecks so they can't afford to leave until Respawn has work ready for them. Give it a year or so and we'll see most of them have moved over. In the mean time, Activision gets a lot of work…
@Kobun: I don't think MW2 is bad so much as it's not great. MW was an amazing game. I'd never bought a shooter from those guys before then, I was tired of the WW2 stuff, but MW was probably the best shooter I've ever played. I bought MW2 solely on the strength of that game. While I'm happy with my purchase I don't…
@Slagathorian: What Respawn said was:
@Swaga727: You're absolutely right, their first game won't sell more than MW2 or MW3 for that matter. A few games in though the casuals will have figured out that CoD sucks now and Respawn's new franchise is worth buying. Casual gamers don't know who's who but they still migrate to better games, it just takes more…
@The Moof: It rarely affects the content of games in other countries, they usually just alter the game for the country they're selling it in. Now that you mention it though I do remember hearing that about Fallout 3 although I thought it was just a matter of the names of some things, not different…
@Culebra: I see your point and I don't think any of the other Attorney's will argue against an R18+ (from what little I've read of the issue) but I'm sure there's some group in the country that doesn't like the idea. In the US it'd be Fox News or something like that if none of the politicians wanted to do the arguing.
@xmdfmk7x: Firstly, that's what the article says.
@Slagathorian: I suppose it depends on what you mean by the term exploit. In this context it seems to be a reference to Activision's "exploiting" meaning that you churn out crap games annually to try to suck more money from stupid consumers. I don't think West and Zampella are saying they don't want to make gobs of…
@Kiwi Kawaii: I'd rather see one of the top execs from Blizzard get the CEO job and turn Activision around. Much as I hate the company Activision has great market share. It'd be a shame to waste all that, I'd much rather put someone who knows what the hell they're doing in there and end up with a great company with a…
