As a Megaten fan, I am fully in support of Kotaku trolling Megaten fans.

“No, it’s not as good as Persona 5, but...”

My dad had Battle Chess on his computer, and my mom said I wasn’t allowed to play it because it was violent.

I was like, wait a minute, Sea of Stars sounds really familiar. And then I realized that I have a Kickstarter backer order for the Early Backer Exclusive Physical Edition, which I do not actually remember ordering and have no idea what it even includes, but COOL.

I’m so white that when I recently subtitled a hip-hop track for a video of a dance show at my theatre, I had a serious discussion with the videographer about whether or not “wiggida-wiggida-wiggida” was a compound adverb modifying the adjective “wack.”

Fascinating. I’m pretty sure I updated my PS4, and I wouldn’t want to lose my online functionality anyway, but out of curiosity, could one theoretically run custom Beat Saber tracks on a jailbroken PS4?

I wrote a modern adaptation of Christmas Carol for my community theatre that casts Scrooge as a clear Amazon exec analog. Maybe I should have done GameStop instead...

....but what about bunny HATS?

This is giving me serious Gorogoa vibes with the way the puzzles seem to flow. I loved that game (although it was merely surreal rather than emotionally devastating). I’ll definitely be picking this one up.

I bought Dropmix! Granted, I bought it at a Goodwill, but I bought it and a bunch of card packs and I love it.

I’m sure that’ll go great for them! Just like when Activision acquired RedOctane!

As someone who’s active on the MegaTen subreddit, this piece cracks me up, because my Reddit feed has been absolutely inundated with memes about the IGN piece and SMT aficionados bickering about whether to shit talk Persona fans or be welcoming to them.

I joined the MegaTen subreddit in advance of SMT V’s release, and, wow, the Persona hate is real(especially for 3-5). I love all the branches of the SMT franchise, but I will say that while Nocturne was my first and Devil Summoner possibly still my favorite, I think that the modern Persona games are just better

This looks like something that protestors could use, actually.

Yessss, turn-based combat! I wasn’t expecting that, and now I might actually play this game. Loved Monster Hunter Stories, but the actual “story” part was pretty thin. While Pokemon isn’t exactly known for its nuanced storytelling, I have an attachment to pocket monsters that I don’t have to Monster Hunter monsters,

How long til someone ports Doom?

When I was a young weeb, I wanted nothing more than a Volks Dollfie, price be damned. I’ve always loved the Ghost in the Shell vibe these dolls give off, and their clothing tends to be exquisitely made (my mom’s a seamstress, so I get excited about this stuff). The tailoring and detail work on Y’shtola’s dress here is

But where is Ed?

One of my friends once described Toby Fox as “a composer who releases video games instead of albums,” which seems very apt, so support him by giving him money on Bandcamp for the soundtrack! I am in rehearsals for a play that opens next week, so I must STRICTLY keep myself from playing the game until it closes.

My gentleman caller and I were extremely excited to play the Diablo 2 remaster/rerelease together when it came out (I’ve only ever played Diablo 3), and this week we looked at each other and said, goddamnit, now we can’t. Luckily, there are lots of other co-op games we can play instead. (He wants to pirate it instead.
